Learning impaired students tend to isolate themselves because they are not understood by the other students. A good strategy for accomodating a learning impaired student is to ensure the general education teacher is aware and trained to deal with the student...the other students in the class must be made aware of accepting others differeces and taught to see the potential of others and the abilities that they could offer to the group. Training the classroom to be accepting is a responsive method that shoud be implemented at the begining of the year in order that all students buy-into the diverse atmosphere of the classroom/world.

The barriers faced by hearing impaired students would be, if at a public school, having few, or no other students that can sufficiently communicate with them. There can also be problems with the actual understanding of the work as someone would need to be brought in to sign what is being said or the teacher signs as they speak. Once on a task there would need to be a way to get the attention of a student back, which could also potentially be a barrier to their learning.
