...one of your students kissed you, i'm just curious. Like what would you do the moment right after it happened, not a day after it happened you would report it or anything. But the moment after they did it and you had to stare into thier eyes after it happened, what would you do, what would you say? And no creepy comments! *sigh* but i'm sure there'll be some...carry on.

Yeah, it is a creepy question but i'm curious. I completely understand that a responsible teacher would never put any signals out there like that, and i think thats right and i appreciate comments like that. But my question wasnt answered, 'if' a student kissed you, what would you do or say the moment after it happens, as a teacher, what do you do?

Immediately set appropriate boundaries with the child letting him know it is never okay.
Then let the administration know
That night I would do some soul searching and determine if there was anyway I was sending some kind of message.

As a teacher, I would have to say that one of the most important things in classroom management is to always be proactive. I always make sure that I don't give students any opportunity to attempt to do something that would threaten my career or their sense of self-worth. If you don't put yourself out there as available, you don't have to wonder what you would do if it happened. There should be no time whatsoever that a teacher and student are in a situation where this could happen. Kids are going to push as far as possible. As professionals - we have to be aware and draw the line. My high school kissing days are long ago and far away. These kids are my RESPONSIBILITY!

Faced with the end of your career and the very real possiblility of going to jail, the first word that springs to mind is "no".

I would tell him/her that his/her behavior is NOT acceptable and tell him/her that I would be transferring him/her out of my class immediately! If his/her parents call or contact you wondering why they were transferred out, I would be honest and tell them this is what he/she did.

Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES ever be seen alone with this child again....and when you tell them the above, make sure you have another faculty member with you in the room, NOT another child.

It wouldn't happen. Prevention is the key to successful classroom management.

it wont happen. as a teacher, you should be careful regarding your relationship with your students. it should be strictly teacher-student relationship. avoid being so close to your students.

I would say: "Oh my God! I can't belive you just did that! Do you know how bad this is?"
