I am currently working toward my Bachelor's degree/ certification in Elementary Education. My long term goal is to do Special Education, but there was a special program for Elelmentary Education (due to the need for more teachers in my city) that I just couldn't pass up due to its affordability, flexible scheduling, (I'm a mom to 3 and I work full time!) and convenient location.

From your experience,

please tell me your opinion: After obtaining my degree/certification in Elementary Education, will it be likely that the district will sent me for certification/ Master's in Special Ed due to their need for more teachers in that specialty, or should I move on to a Special Ed Certification/ Master's program on my own BEFORE entering the workforce as a teacher?

When you first become a teacher, is there some tendency (available position depending of course!) to place teachers in a position close in proximity to the section of the city that they live in, or do the newbies automatically get assigned to the least desirable schools?

How do you view preschool teachers in relation to the rest of the teaching world? Do you consider them an equal to the teachers you send your children to in ele, middle, and high school? Or do you see them as babysitters while you work? Also, what do you think about someone that has been a preschool teacher their whole life? Did they waste their teaching degree by being in preschool? Or should they be rewarded for their patience?

My College teacher thought we should try and do some easy stuff in class (5th grade work) to see if we could pass for a grade-here it is: Suppose 3 states produce 7/16 (it's a fraction) of the gold in the United States each year. Suppose 7 other states produce 3/16 (it's a fraction) of the gols produced in the United states each year comes from these 10 states?
