I think we all know what the the stakes are here, I also believe that we all care for our children and their future. I cannot help but notice the shortcomings our education system allows to exist and multiply.

I know there are numerous people who point the finger at teachers, administrators, politicians and parents. What is your take on the problems and how can we go about fixing them? Parents,Teachers, Administrators, Politicians and taxpayers, please chime in!

I want to travel to Japan and Thailand, and have received a TESOL certificate / training, but I think you legally need a bachelors degree to work in these countries. Is this right? I would like to work somewhere other than China, but am not sure which countries I can apply for.

Do you know how to work in Japan or Thailand without a university degree? If not, can you tell me what the best country to work in (TESOL) would be, that I can work in?

I am new to this industry and would appreciate any help from experienced/knowledgeable people.

Thanks in advance!

I have no problem living and working in urban areas, as I have worked in those type of setting in the past. I am just curious if there are many success stories and/or horror stories out there, or if anybody has had past experiences and would recommend the program or not.

Does anyone know of any websites (or books I can purchase) that offer ideas for middle school math projects (specifically 7th or 8th grade)? Something that involves a lot of thinking but not expensive or elaborate materials??? I appreciate any help you can give me!

Here's an example: http://www.angelfire.com/ny/brockport/Package.html

There isn't a doubt that science is the future. There is nothing else more essential for the advancement of society in the long run. The only way America can remain at the top is if it's science and technology is the most advanced. The problem is, from my experiences in high school, it seems as if many students just don't seem to be interested or motivated to pursue careers in science. This problems is becoming ever more pressing, with other countries catching up to us economically, and now with grant cuts and research restrictions imposed by the US government. How can we motivate these students to pursue careers in science?

I'm still in high school, but I'm interested in becoming an English teacher. My other interests include philosophy, literature, humanities, and language (I love looking up words and seeing their meanings). What are some things I can do to prepare, or, what courses should I take in college? Is it beneficial to teach abroad for some time? I realized that there are many queries in teaching English in Japan...why is that? Thank you for your help.
