People need to see the importance of teachers. Right now, teachers are the enemy because it is our job to teach the students and no one else. Once people realize our worth, we might get better pay by the state government. Also our paychecks are reflected by taxes which are also used for educational technology.

I know a lot of qualified teachers who are not teaching--including several who wanted to teach high school--but are now professors in universities. And every one left not over money, but because they weren't alllowed to do the job properly. There are good teachers in the schools--and a few manage to stick it out more than just a few years. But if you want better teachers, money isn't the answer. Getting back to allowing teachers to teach and getting the edcuational bureaucracy off their backs will help. So will holding teachers accountable for their results--and good teachers don't object to accountability. The majority of the ones we have do--and have fought every attempt to reform their profession. And are always the first to demand more money .

Don't get me wrong--I have the greatest respect for good, dedicated teachers--the few that are left. But not for the teaching profession as a whole--not as it is now.

The teachers salary is paid by the district, the district gets its money from the tax payers, US. So in otherwords to help teachers get paid more they would have to raise the property taxes more. That is how easy it would be people just dont want to do it.
