I failed the stupid thing 3 times in row by 1 point! I'm so mad!
I asked to get it regraded and it came back the same score!
Has anyone else experienced this? I used the barrons book and a website before to help study. The website CST review sucks but the rest of the test reviews were ok. I am now reading the REA teacher prep (big purple book).

I recently change my my major to History Education... I love history and i think i will enjoy teaching. I'm going into secondary education (high school). So do you like teaching? What are its ups and downs? Any information or tips i need to know.

I am a student teacher in a middle school science classroom. I pride myself on being a progressive teacher, and I try to use a lot of project and imagination based learning, rather than the traditional 'test what is known and regurgitate the facts' type of science classroom. We have done projects ranging from writing creation myths (to explore ancient ideas of the Earth, and how it relates to the other heavenly bodies) to creating 'life' on other solar bodies (to discover the conditions that would exist on other planets/worlds).

I have had some students been resistent to these projects, and would much rather do traditional reports rather than have to use their imagination. What are some ideas as to which style is more effective, and any other advice I would appreciate.

one of my friends thinks that in herefordshire you can do just a 9 month course and become a primary school teacher without a degree? im sure all teachers need a degree before doing teacher training - can anyone help? Im currently in a profession and would like to change

I always hear people complaining about how teachers only work 8am-2pm and get 3 months off for summer, therefore they are overpaid and the Unions are just evil organizations that don't teach children anything. I don't know about you, but I believe that developing lesson plans, preparing for parent teacher conferences, actual parent teacher meetings, staff development days, field trips and planning, plus summer school, goes WAY beyond the 8am-2pm myth. Why do people jump to conclusions so quickly? In some ways, I think teachers work harder than CEOs and lawyers but are compensated WAY less.

A student of mine told me that one of my other students once tried to rape a girl. She told me in a confidence and I'm not supposed to tell anyone, but I can't NOT do anything about this. This guy needs help and we (teachers) must be on the look out for this type of behavior. So, what now? I can`t confront him with it, don`t know if anyone could really. Do I tell the principal, the counsellor, the psychologist...? Help!

Okay, my college teacher after making us take a test. brought out one of the student's test and read what the student had wrote. practically the student failed miserably but to make things worst the teacher mocked the student, by reading the student's poor writing skills. although he never mentioned the student's name, i believe it was a person i knew. at the very end of the test was a note stating that he needed more help, but the teacher only mocked every word the student wrote. Afew students stood up and demanded that he stopped mocking the student's writting and get to something more important at hand. then the teacher said he just wanted to address the issue of this student. it was clear that everyone was disgusted by the way this teacher presented this person's test. now i'm angry, and want to get this teacher fired for doing what he did to this poor student. who do i talk to and what can i do to help this student?
