The feminization of examination methods.
For example the increase in discurssive exam questions and the decrease in objective test questions disfavours boys because boys tend do to do better in objective reasoning than girls.
For example in the subject of history, questions have changed from "Describe the events" to "How do you think it felt for people(in some historical situation)".
Anyone who thinks boys have suddenly become more stupid over the past twenty years and girls have suddenly become more intelligent is a delluded misandrist!

The improvement of girls has been to the detriment of boys. Boys are now bored stiff with most school subjects. The challenge of learning a skill has been removed : CBI constantly reports that the UK now has severe shortage of skilled youngsters. This has been by stealth through political interference and government driven Ofsted which promotes a curriculum bias towards girls’ subjects. Lesson in 'traditional' subject for boys have been removed. Carpentry/engineering/technical studies, physics, PE/Games have been replaced by graphics, general science and mixed sports.........ie.. sharp tools are dangerous, electricity and chemicals are dangerous and remove any close contact/rough sports.

Increased expectations and access. While the world is far from being completely unbiased toward women, women have never had more opportunities in higher education and the professional world. This is the first full generation of women that are expected and encouraged to be successful professionals, which means they must do well in school. The previous generations of women argued that they could do it, they just needed fair access to quality educational opportunities and jobs. This generation is now expected to perform well because that access was granted.

i don't know about elsewhere but here in Nigeria, africa, we have growing dominance in feminine academic enrolment as well as achievement.
Boys over here are getting more and more disillusioned by what seems to them as the futility of a college degree. Bcos thousands graduate and after 7 years of unemployment, lose their girlfriends and fiances to unenlightened men who sells automobile engines and poultry farmers.
