The answer to your question is Math and Science... though that's probably not what you want to hear.
I'd stick with English, though, as there are more classes that English teachers teach than just English.
For example, ELD, Reading Development etc.
If you're a good student, I'd look at taking a double major in both.
What I did was get my basic credential in English, then I added History later. I only had to pass the CSET tests in Social Sciences and pay my $55 dollars to the California CTC.

Which subject do you love the most? History? Then teach History. English? Then you need to teach English.
The most need is in the English department but if you are just good at it and don't have a deep passion for it, it would serve you best just to stick with History.
English is difficult and kids really are not fond of it. Sort of reminds me of their fondness for Math. Most children don't seem to understand the need for proper English so it is the teachers job to make English fun, and rewarding. If you can do that then go for it.
History is also a much needed place to fill. This is something that few people seem to see the importance of. If you love History and can make it come alive to students then we need you.
If you can make History come alive and English seem relevant to students then please teach both. :-)

I am in middle school too and i like history better because it can go on forever and will never stop but english has grammar or writings to learn. I think u should pic the one u know most about and the one u r interested in. (don't get bored teaching the same things over and over again for classes :P)
Whatever u pic, let it come from ur heart!! (IT IS YOUR FUTURE!!)
PS: Good luck!

you should teach english, kids really need to learn how to read becouse 5% of kids by the 11 grade still dont know the basics to reading and writing. Or you could always be a history teacher and make it fun becouse when i was going through school history was soooo boring.

English. The lack of good English teachers is painfully obvious to anyone like myself who teaches at the college level. I am a historian/sociologist--and that is important too. But kids aren't getting the basic literacy skills they need--and that has to take priority.

Substitute in middle school first before deciding if you even want to teach that level. Middle school kids ARE worse than high schoolers! I believe that it takes a special person to teach middle school.

The training are the least confusing ingredient you will ever do on your existence, so do exactly homework and pay interest and you will do large. Why is there even a proficient software in center college? it truly is extra sturdy to fail than to pass, unquestionably. As for the different issues, they are unpredictable and you ought to make your own selections.
