In order to be elegible to apply for national board certification, you need to have at least three years full time teaching experience, and have a valid teaching license during that time. It costs about $3000, and can take several years. Before you spend all that money and go through all that effort, makes sure your school system will reward you (ie a raise) for your acheivement. Good luck!

You need to get your teaching degree in your state. Has to be a BS or BA in education, not Engineering/Tech. Check with the state government website, Department of Education, to see what is required in your state. Many states have different requirements. Although, substituting will look great on your resume, and will provide a good recommendation. Good Luck!!

make extra efforts to be a good teacher. There's no secret code to get you some awards. Be original in your teaching methods and make time to take time to make your material interesting. Some of your students will tell their parents. Some of their parents will talk about it to another student's parents. Some of those parents will feel especially kind and notify the administration of your successful teachings. And some of those administrators will investigate furthur and possibly nominate you for something within the school, then maybe something from the entire school board, and furthur out. It'll take time and effort and patient, but if you are really passionate about teaching, it should happen on its own.

In the Philippines we have the national teachers board exam. You have to pass the exam in order to become a professionally certified teacher and be allowed to teach in any government schools.

Sorry, but in the US there are not any standard national teaching qualifications/certifications. With a bachelor's in this field, it shouldn't be too hard to round out that education with teacher specific courses. Talk to the edu coordinator at any local college for how and what you can do to get a traditional teaching licensure.
