What one thing would you introduce for the fall '07 semester? Please state level: high school, middle school, college, post grad ...etc .... specialised school...

My vote: kindergarteners get to cook.

I have been teaching middle school for two and a half years and would like to move to high school. I know how to approach an eleven year old, but not a sixteen year old. What suggestions do you have for effective classroom management strategies?

I was wondering how many hours does it take you to do school work at night. How do you grade papers to make it easier on you? Can you just get grading done at work and not bring it home? Can you still have a social life when you are a teacher? If so, how do you do it? Do you agree with all the people that say teaching is soooooo stressful? Would you ever change your job or are you happy with being a teacher?

I have had the same professor for four semesters while I was in colege. I recently received my OD degree and this particular teacher had been particularly influential in my studies.

So Im sitting here staring at a blank thank you note.
I don't want to sound so sappy or understate things.

Any suggestions?

a lot of homework and almost no txt books or a little homework and a lot of text books for me I rather have a lot of homework and almost no text books cuz if I have a lot of text books I feel like I have a lot of homework when i really dont and It goes on forever

And you have the crazy task of teaching a highly difficult text, (with lots of name dropping and college-level references) such as Howard Zinn's People's History. How do you do it? Telling them to go home and read it and then come back and discuss it is not an option: they get about a 16 on the ACT if they're lucky.
