The teacher should really be a master of the subject. Don't go inside the classroom without preparing. The classroom should be live. Don't take the students to be passive listeners. They should actively participate in the teaching learning process.
The topic should be illustrated with the help of examples. Relate the topic to something current to make your lecture more interesting. All this requires preparation. You may be teaching the same lesson for many years. But spent just 10 minutes before each class to go through what u will be teaching. Teachers are more respected for their knowledge and remembered for their sense of humor. A timely joke will help you to get the undivided attention of your students. Always remember, the more you make your class active, the more easier will be for you to handle your students.

A positive environment where the students feel secure
A code of conduct that all students have a hand in making, giving them a sense of ownership of that code. This will make giving consequences easier. Make sure the students know what the consequences are.
Good organization skills
Vary teaching and assessment methods to reach all learners
Be firm but loving
Be consistant
Make sure you have the support of administration and that the kids know that
Try to keep a good line of contact with the parents- I know this can be difficult with some parents

I think I have answer for your question.Love, patience and discipline. First of all you need to love and develop friendly or motherly relationship with child/children, at times need to control anger and frustration , I firmly believe in love and discipline go parallel together. All this is my 16 years experience. I was a tutor and class teacher of Jr KG class my students were most disciplined. I love kids so all this happened automatically. you need to love your job. For nay new topic or chapter you are going to start prepare a day before for it in a very innovative and creative way to teach them. I'm sure you and students both will enjoy, then you will no more feel your life difficult in classroom.

Let the kids get involved. They like to help, so give them jobs to do every day. Let them do some of the passing out and some of the cleaning up. Let one kid be in charge of the 'exit log' every day, so you don't have to stop teaching to do that. Smile. Give them something to have ready the minute they walk in the door tomorrow. Homework can be to remember what a simile is, and one kid can check it off for you. Let them do as much as you can to make things easier for you. Go slow with anything new, and always have a backup plan for time at the end in case they finish early. Use art as much as you can, even if it's just plain butcher wrap and chalk. They love to display their stuff on your walls. And read The First Days of School by Harry Wong.

Teachers need a supportive environment...and not just the administration. Yes, they need to support you and have your best interests at heart, but teachers also need the support of parents. Parents fail to realize, when they are not confident in teachers, neither are their children and that causes a problem.

No buttons & good sense of humor

The best advice my first VP ever gave me was "Don't have buttons. If you don't have buttons, they can't push them."

That piece of advice has made my life as a teacher, and as a mom, significantly better! That doesn't mean putting up with inappropriate behavior - it just means don't take it personally. (I never got angry. It just was a matter of cause and effect - opps - you guys were talking, that means lunch dentention).

And if you can find joy in your day and in your students, then everything will seem worth it.

Enjoy

Teachers need support from the school administration. They need ongoing training and access to adequate supplies. They need backup when parents are unreasonable.

save on with instructions. Come to type prepared (having finished the homework and with all of your components). Do all of your assignments to the better of your skill. Ask good questions.
