I do not know the age group to which you are referring but one answer would be to make the instruction relevant to their daily lives. If their are any types of businesses around or agriculture, sue that as a basis for instruction. For instance, if they sell a product, how much should they plant, what is the estimate of crop, what area of land do they need, what is the average yield, measure the product, what is the cost of delivery, keep accounts of sales, what are the overhead costs? You could also begin a business of making a product or food. This would use reasoning, language arts and mathematics, sales etc. The purpose is to make it relevant and incorporate as many aspects of math as you can while you show them the absolute necessity that they know math and will be better off being good at it. They must understand through example that the person who knows math better will have the advantage.

Math is already a popular subject in rural areas. Students fear from it only due to some misunderstanding. It is very interesting and mark scoring subject. It is lack of our teaching system and unwanted fear that is filled in the minds of students. The teaching system should be improved to make it more interesting and enjoyable at primary level.

maths is already a popular subject. moreover the importance of subject is not understood by its famous or not , maths is like oxygen we need it in every part of our life . to increse its imporatance more semminars and evaents related to maths must be held. students must be given practical knowledge right from their childhood so they find maths intresting and may continue in futre with it .

math is interesting as long as the concepts r clear ..so just see that u make de students understand the concepts properly with day to day examples and with enough of numericals to do...and the teacher himself and his class ought to be lively 4 de subject to be more interesting....

have some fun little competitions! i went to some math competitons in elementary school and it was fun and got the kids interested and excited...try some flash cards and things like that or examples of "real world" math problems...good luck!
