Primary & Secondary Education

I am a junior in high school, an honors student and pretty smart; however, lately I have been feeling very unmotivated. I basically think that I am wasting my time because I will never actually use any of the stuff I learn here (except from maybe 1 or 2 of my 6 classes). It is very hard to stay motivated when the only reason I have to try hard is that a good education is taken seriosly in the "real world", but not the actual material you learn. Can anyone help?

My school does not start until 7:45. I get up at 6:45. Then I eat, shower, and dress into my school uniform. Then I walk to school.

I've only been late 3 times all last semester, but 3 tardies in a semester = 1 detention. So I served it the last Friday before break. It was my first one ever, and my mom was furious that I was becoming such a "bad girl." I'd say over 75% of kids are late 3 or more times a semester. (I was late during the first week of school, on Halloween since my costume was acting weird, and about 2 weeks ago since I was finishing a paper and fell asleep at my computer).

So now this is her new rule. I have to be dressed in my school uniform by 6:00 AM. This mean I have to get up to shower at like 5:30. At 6:00, I must be in my school uniform with my shirt tucked in all ready to go. But since it only takes 20 minutes to walk to school, I pretty waste an hour (6-7) in my uniform to eat breakfast and do nothing.

Why is she making me do this?

I start high school next year and my mom just said that I need to start thinking about where I want to go I mean I am litterally shaking right now. Is high school horrifying or was it the best years of your life. What was your experience in high school. Please I am really worried so please answer.

well there are a couple things i want to know how much trouble i would get in for doing them
1. stealing your teachers lighter
2. setting stuff on fire with the lighter
3. stealing all of your teachers answer keys
and stuff like that
no i have not done any of the above but me and some friends are thincking of a prank to play on one of our teachers and i do not want to be kicked out of school agian and no no one will get hurt during the prank

If a school is licensed by the state education department but not accredited by anyone is it as good or trustworthy as an accredited school?
I'm not talking about on-line schools.
The school i'm researching actually has a physical location to attend. it's a vocational school.
Also is it possible to be accredited by a respected institution but not licensed by the state ed dept?

My brother has a PSP and I have a DS, so I figured I'd bring those. There's a DVD player in the car, but we don't have any new movies and the kids will only sit still for so long.

I guess I could bring coloring books. Maybe some snacks like Goldfish or something. Ummm ...

See, the thing is we're going to be doing most of our driving during the day. So I need ideas of stuff to keep them not-annoying!! xD

Also, we leave tomorrow (I pretty much just found out) so there's no time to go out and buy anything ...

And if you have any ideas for kid songs, tell me because I'm planning to make some CDs. The kids love songs like Who Let The Dogs Out and stuff like that.

I want to attend Holy Trinity Diocesan High School next school year. What can I do to convince my parents to send me? Money is no problem whatsoever. I couldn't find any of the course of studies for getting into a college and studying for Masters of Business Administration. I could only find information on the course of study that I would take in college, but not how to get in college.

I don't think I want to be a Financial Advisor.

She has been crying her eyes out over it. She is in 8th grade middle school and there is another middle school a few miles from here. Some of her friends were redistricted to that school.But she only has to go 5 months and then she will be in high school with all her friends again. What should I tell her. She is so sad right now.

My child's home school in Ontario Canada is now offereing French Immersion starting in Grade 1. While I would not have enrolled him in French immersion if it meant going across town, I a wondering about the pros and cons. Any experiences to help make a decision are welcome.

I have played waterpolo for two years in 10th and 9th grade.Also i have done honors classes 10th and 9th grade(history and english). 11th grade is the breaking point. If i do IB(honors) next year i will have to do it in all classes, witch is alot of work. it most likely means i will have to pick between waterpolo and IB. I enjoy waterpolo alot and i want to become good at it, but if i do IB for 11th and 12th i can go to any school in the world. Its a really hard descion and there is no way i can do both.
