You probably need to focus some more on your school work. Also, you need to take some more responsibility and treat your school work as a job. It's the only way that you will see that you can't blow off school work since it's very important.

Since you are failing, I suggest to at least raise your grade to a C- in each class by seeking extra help and asking your teacher for extra credit!

Good Luck!

I had the same problem the end of my sophomore year. I was failing 4 classes and there were only 4 weeks left of school til summer!! I decided that the most important thing in my life at that point was to bring all of those grades to passing. So I turned off my computer, iPod and phone for a month and just did my homework and did as much extra credit as I could. By the time summer came, all of my failing grades became A's and B's. If I can do it you can too!! Just focus, shut everything out and work hard. You can make it! I have faith in you. Good luck

Well I can tell you one thing. You definitely need to start paying more attention to your classes, especially your Algebra. I slept through all of my Algebra classes and by the end of my senior year in high school I was third from bottom in my class. I am now going to a community college while all of my friends are going to very good schools or at the very least state schools. They're all getting scholarships and merit aid whereas I'm paying out the a** for my school. That Algebra has been plaguing me ever since and with just about any major you choose you're going to need at least Algebra I and more likely Algebra II as well just to be accepted in. If you want to continue to listen to music or play video games or whatever it is that you do, I highly recommend that you sit down and finish your homework first. You'll worry less about it, feel better about yourself, and find that you have plenty of time to finish everything you want to do.

Decide how important it is to you to actually pass your classes, and act like it's that important.

Stop studying near the computer, tv, etc. Go in a different room and stay there til the reading is done and the homework is complete.

Start staying at school til your homework is done. Do it on lunch, do it after school...that way when you get home you have your time all to yourself.

I agree with those who advised you to alternate studying with R & R--do a little, reward yourself, do some more, etc.--or to study with friends or with music. I was sorry to see that those answerers got any thumbs down! Although this advice may go against what we've all been told, I know from experience that it often works. If you can't focus on one thing at a time, whether your problem is ADD or just lack of self-discipline, focus on MORE than one. Trying to do more than one thing at a time has traditionally had a bad name, but today it's called multi-tasking!

Are you my son? Seriously, you need to work out a plan where you study for 20 min, then take a 10 min break. You can listen to music online while you study and, if you have friends you IM, you can work together on your homework. If a favorite TV show is coming on at 7, plan to study from 6 to 7. You need to look at your schedule and set it up the way that works best for you. If you need help, find a teacher you respect and ask for help.

u have to like manage ur time and stuff
but really....
here is what you should do if your so "smart"

if u live in CA, take a test called CHSPE. you have to be 16 OR in ur second semester of ur 10th grade year.
if you pass, you get ur high school diploma early and move on to a community college.
no one will EVER see those F's again, no colleges or anything.
high school is a waste of time... you will never get anything out of it like people say u will.
im glad i left early.
might as well get started on ur career.
so if u wanna do well, u can do that.
i did it and now im 17 graduating college next year. (as in getting my B.A.)
