"She'll probably never learn to spell correctly anyway" with a wave of her hand in the air,

would you have a right to be upset?
or feel offended for your child?

are slips like this commonplace?
i'm feeling very alienated from the school now.

when i leaned forward and said "Excuse me, did you just say that my child........" I couldn't even finish talking, everyone jumped in for damage control, trying to explain to me what 'she meant'.

this actually happened to me 2 weeks ago at my daughter's Title I meeting; so i wrote a letter telling the teacher how negative and unprofessional i thought she was, and that i believed she said what she was thinking, and i'm not sure she will give my daughter the effort that is warranted to help her reach the required level........so now we're having another meeting, at my request, to map out a plan that keeps me more involved about what she is learning each week -

i thought there were things teachers never said.

what do you think?

My opinion is no, I live in a depressed rural area where a great deal of the population is at or below the poverty line. The middle school that my daughter goes too had a fundraiser which if the children paid $5 they could wear their normal clothes for a day instead of the uniforms. This seemed very unfair because a great deal of the families barely have food in their counters and on top of that have to buy new uniforms each year. I believe there are better ways to fundraise and this practice singles out the children who cannot afford $5 for this benefit. Also the students were told that if they wore their regular clothes without paying they would be suspended. What do you think?

The teacher took a book from my friend because she was reading in class, even when she was asked to put it away. Then she asked me to get it back for it so I asked the teacher if she could have it back because she needed it for SSR. He told he no and gave me his reasons, but did it kind of angrily. Now I'm kind of afraid he thinks less of me.

Hello! I graduate from college this Saturday and have a job interview for a 2nd grade teacher position next week. I was wondering if you could help me prepare for my interview...

What questions should I ask? I have been trying to come up with a list of questions to ask while at the interview but I know that I am forgetting a lot!

What questions should I be prepared to answer?

What should I bring with me?

Any other tips?

I'm 15, a sophomore. To keep it simple I'm considering dropping out of school when I turn 16.

If your future job, and it's not something out of the blue, I've decided since years ago "This is what I want to be." and it's a pretty admirable profession to be working as, nonetheless not partially school-related, it's just I feel school deprives me of time I have.

I'm not sure, if I sound extremely ignorant, and please no answers "no u sholud stay in skool && dont do drugs" SERIOUSLY most of you should spell check, respect the English language.

Anyways, the question:
Is school that important?

I don't think that they can be prevented as school shooters randomly do it. There are NO signs at all in most cases. I think tightening the security in school is ridiculous as most school shooters do it at random which serves no point. All it is doing is making the students act worried even more. They are normal people that just randomly do a school shooting.

Here's my source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/School_shooting#.22Profiling.22_school_shooters

I love school, but the classes i'm in are depressing. I only have a least one friend in one of my classes, which I have more than one. I'm on crutches, because of my foot, and the teachers are boring. I know I shouldn't be complaining, because I want to get an English degree.

Hi, we have a handful of Jehovah's Witness children in our school. They are aged 5 to 7 and I'm looking for ideas on how to practice inclusion when at this time of year the whole school has gone Christmas mad. In normal RE lessons they just go to a different class but that is not working at the moment as there are too many carols being sung, decorations being made, plays rehearsed etc. all over the school

why do we educate all the members of our society?.. would our grades really matter in the real world or the skills we acquired?...do you think the schools across the globe are preparing us for the future the right way?...if all the schools start all over again, would we crumble and fall and fail?...

I spend hours and hours on my homework each night. I start lke at 5 pm and go until 2 or 3 am. I DO get a lot of hmwk, but I know it's also my time managaement skills that are crap.

I think I might be somewhat of a perfectionist. it's just that I don't know how to make things short, and when I do, I feel like I haven''t done my best. I spend longer than I need to on normal hmwk and even longer on projects. cna someone help??? i've tried makign schedules but i dont sitck to them.
I'm also terrible at prioritizing.
