To a point. There should be a restriction on what kids should wear. I do believe it teaches younger children that even in the work world that we live in that we can't wear rags and mini skirts that show your "secrets". I even believe that it is good to dress up some, polo shirt and slacks boots a child's self-esteem because they look good so they feel good about themselves.

I think there are some schools where it is a very good idea and others where it isn't that necessary.

A lot depends on the kids. If you have gang problems mandatory uniforms will help counter gang dressing styles. Uniforms also remove a lot of the incentive to spend money on an expensive wardrobe.

If the kids are pretty good without uniforms and are otherwise presentably dressed and there is not gang problem you don't even need to consider uniforms.

I am in the 8th grade and I don't think they should. It doesn't allow kids to exprese them selves, and they can't have there own freedom of speach, and who wants to look like evreyone else in the school,,,weird! Unless no one at the school can aford clothes and they have nothing to wear then, those schools should have them
