im going to a really getto high school next year. their like half black like thugy blacks and the remainder of the whites all smoke pot. shootings, bomb threats, stabbings, fights, are all like every day occurences. i'm going thier by choice. any tips

all you have to to is just live through it. Just consider these tips:
1. Dont get mixed up in the wrong crowd, even if it ruins your reputation. Your reputation for collage is WAY more important than your high school reputation.
2. Dont mess with the wrong crowd. Ghetto kids are tough and they will mess you up.
3. Ignore what ever is around you and keep your mind on school.
4. Just remember, it is only 4 years of this (if your a freshmen) it isnt as bad as you think.

If you know that there is all this stuff going on, why are you choosing to go? There is something that is making you want to go to this particular school, just focus on this instead of all of the bad stuff. Sty away from people who will bring you down. It's better to be lonely, than to be in with a crowd that will mess up your chances of doing good in school.
Oh, and don't smoke pot.

dont look at people as black or white or weed enthusiest, see them as people.
fights will soon become mondane, and bomb threats to crappy schools are usually fake.
by the way, "ghetto" has an "h" in it.
