Just look at the situation in this manner. Ask yourself , "Am I smart or am I stupid" " If I am stupid and hate school, Someone will get me a job at McDonalds sweeping and mopping the floor and taking out the trash. If I'm smart, I will learn all I can , finish school and get a job that will make me a good living." " If I am stupid, math is not for me". " if I am smart, I will learn all there is to know about figures because every business depends on figures and how they are used" and then there is Romeo& Juliet. " if I'm stupid I'm not learning that junk "about some idiot and the girl on the balcony" " If I"m smart, I'll learn all that smooth stuff because smart girls go for guys who know things" " Maybe I should't hate so much because hate is not the way life is supposed to be."

i use to hate school but know i found some really good friends and im starting to enjoy school alot...i dnt knw if they do this at your school but at my school we can choose the classes we want to take so dnt choose the ones u dont like...
Its good to talk to someone about this stuff to like ur mum or dad or a teacher i dunno someone u can trust....
or u could try writting a journal and writting all you feelings this might help get rid of your sadness/anger anything
if it doesnt work move schools...and if that doesnt work just drop out

A good thing to do

First, write down everything you don't like about school.
Then make a list of the good things you enjoy (even if it's only recess and lunch, that's a start!).
Now, what can you change on the "don't like" list? Would remembering to do your homework help you feel more confident if you're called on in class? Could you find a way to show off your special interests and talents? If you made just one new friend, would you feel less alone? If you helped someone else feel less alone, would you feel even better? Which activities could you try that would help you meet new friends?
Of course, you may not be able to change everything on your "don't like" list. A bully may not simply disappear. Reading may always be a challenge. But that's OK. Focus on what you can change and you might be able to put the cool back in school!

lol wow that long

Bob,
I'm sorry it hurts to go to school. You can't change others around you, but you can change you. We all have to go through this from time to time, even as adults.

Going to school trains our minds so we can do a better job, and make better judgements about work, family, home, and careers. Romeo and Juliet weren't my favorites, either. But now that I understand the play, I also better understand life itself. They have lots of similarities. It also helps us in conversation. You'll have to take my word on that.

Dealing with the idiots are what we have to learn. They aren't just in school, they're in all of life. They didn't listen in school, but somehow, they got the job before we did, and now we have to work with them. Not usually the same ones, but there they are. We have to learn how to work WITH them, instead of against them.

I recommend you work with a counselor, they can help you develop some strategies to adjust to school, and help with some of that depression you're feeling at the moment. You will feel better. You might even talk to a school counselor, if there is one there.

Watch the doughnut not the hole! Focus on what you do like, what you want, and what you would like to be, have, do in the future. Think about how you will go about reaching those goals. You will probably be needing some of the skills that you are expected to learn in the classes you are taking now. There really are reasons for learning this stuff. Try to figure out how it may help you get where you want to go in the future.

I have a student in my computer technology class, that I know is going to fail. I know other teachers who would laugh or belittle that person. But for myself, I just want him to engage, to try and have a go.

For you it is the same. School is crap, well a lot of life is full of crap (I have to work with a psycho christian person who tries to take control of everything, tells lies about other staff, sabotages the smooth running of things, and insists she is a good person). But life is too short to be destroyed by the bad things.

Firstly, work out your goal. What do you want to do. Unless your career goal is a drug dealer or prostitute you had better get an education. But know for yourself why you are doing it. Don't worry about the little people talking crap. Just get up and do it.

Your future is yours to make, not that of the little people (inclduing teachers like, who, if we are lucky, can help you make your future).

focus on the future, have a plan, what do you want to do when you leave school....we need to take steps to get to where we want...we need to know where we want to go..... view school in small doses...ok for the next hour I have math then I can do some thing else.... it will help you pass the day... put your energy into subject you actually enjoy... we need to accept that somethings need to be completed in life, best to get on with it and get it out of the way...its not going away...

don't bother much about other people - you have to make yourself happy not depending on other people to be happy. I guess like me, I hate math because I don't understand the subject and the teacher doesn't help much - I don't understand what was he explaining about, but anything at all, just not math - once you understand it you will find it easy
