Has youe child been diagnosed with any form of Attention Deficet disorder. If so what are you doing for it. I ask because i am a high school teacher, myself diagnosed with adhd, and have seen many paerents and students, use this as an excuse for everything, Bad behavior, bad attendance, etc. From my expierence ADD is more of a label to get schools more money based on the "Amount of Special Ed Kids" a school system has. Somany kids are diagnosed by guidance counsellers that actual doctors. It is, for those who have it, more of a personality trait than a disfunction. As a person afflicted, i've found that it just means you have to try a little harder at things, Any one have any ADD stories or situations and how did you deal with it

I have two presentations to give tomorrow. One is on my favorite song for a final in my chorus class, which has about 50 people. The second is for my advanced lit class, and I have to explain how I analyzed a chapter. I get super nervous, and even right now I have butterflies. How can I gain the confidence to give my presentations? I hate sounding shakey and nervous.

I am a camp councler at a summer camp for children exiting kindergarten - 6th grade. Everyday we have a 45 minute free time in the gym. Durining this time the staff member needs to have an activity like, Duck-Duck-Goose, Mofia, Sharks and Minos, or Fruit Salad. I need some ideas of games(and the rules) that we can play with these children that will be fun.

Thanks!

I'm a teacher at a high school. I've just been chosen to be a mentor/coach to help a 16 year old student with her schooling. One of her problems is gaining confident in her classes and I am to help her to motivate and stay focused. What are the best ways that you find it is useful to be motivated and gain confidence?

Okay I have about a week and half till my provincial exams that are worth 40% (I'm in grade 12) I have a math, bio and english exam and I have about 50% in all those subjects or a little, less.

English is my best subject, so I'm not that worried about it but I'm quite worried about math and bio, because I do not understand many units in math. And I don't know if a week and a half is long enough to learn the material.

I have to get at least 50% on all the provincial exams. The exams are about a day or 2 after the last day of school, so I will have to study after school and in the classes that I have bio, english and math. Plus, I have to maintain, okay grades in my other subjects (geography, video productions and yearbook)

My graduation is depending on me passing my exams, If I fail anything I won't graduate. I know that If I work hard and study I should be fine, but I just wondering if passing everything sounds like an unlikely goal. Have you seen bigger miracles accomplished

I'm in Grade 10 and want to get at least five A's in 8 subjects but I always get three. I study four hours after school. I study then practice and try to do online quizes but for some reason I never get a good mark and my marks always come down. I want to get straight A's because I do study to get it but I can't. I usually get B's or C+'s. Other people study for five minutes and perfect ,they get 100%. Is there something wrong here? I have perseverence and won't give up but I think this is the time when the quote" Practice makes Perfect" won't occur. The grade 10 will be over next week and I want to make new plans for grade 11.

Any help will be appreciated it.

i don't want my child to go to DARE education at his local school because i believe that it gets him to comfortable with the police. I feel like if he gets to cofortable with the police he may be quicker to give information to the police later in life.

During my schoolyears I had exams since the age of 7, going from testing the basic skills three times a year at 7 to actual serious three week, all subjects included, thrice a year exam sessions from age 10 to 18.
Whilst it wasn't always fun and sometimes nervewracking, it certainly helped build a broad knowledge-base for further education.
Why do people nowadays seem hell-bent on keeping children away from educational hard work? How are they ever going to learn discipline?

The hairs of his neck stoop up when he saw hundreds of people dressed in black sitting on every chair on the church. There was a little girl holding a wet mossy teddy bear and a man with amputated arm. A bruised old woman with purplish complexion was starring at him with an evil smile. At the corner there was a man with a bloody face and he looks crazed and restless.
