How are airport runways like our K-12 education?

I'm writing a speech for my high school graduation, and this was the topic I have to write on. I'd appreciate any ideas. Thanks!

They are both platforms to launch from. Runways launch planes and jets to soar, while education launches our children to soar in life. Without a runway, planes can't fly. Without education, people can't excel in the labor market.

we put trust in them: that they carry us where we want to go, they are predicatable avenues to a goal or outcome.

(both need repair..nah don't say that!)
