I took a Business Law class, and just got my grade of 2.1. I am a 3.8 average student. The teacher I had wasn't that great. When he lectured he would go right from the book, topic after topic. He didn't attend regularly and sometime didn't even tell us he wasn't coming. He said he gets migraines when there is a drastic change in the weather. He gave us two assignments throughout the entire quarter and we didn't get the back and graded until the last day of class, and the same with the midterm. Should I appeal this grade or go to his supervisor?

Just because the school systems refuse to acknowledge that there are significantly different ways students are able to learn, doesn't mean that the academically gifted are anymore gifted than someone who is visual-spatial.

Neurologist found that we mainly use our left side of the brain or the right side. Left-brainers are sequential, and right- brainers are visual. There's nothing anyone can do to change that. They are both are crucial in society. Almost 70% of students are left-brainers, so what about the other 30% who get a100% in art, but 70% in academics because the school system was too lazy and ignorant to admit the facts and put to use these facts.

Now they say bull crap like "No child left behind" when the school is responsible for making sure all children are taught, and include all methods of teaching. I'm a visual learner and perfectionist. You can't learn to be visual, and neither can I learn in your way.

Why are academics so highly esteemed over all?

Our time tables came today. But we are still allowed to change up our courses.
First semester i have: French, Planning (we are forced to take this either in grade 10 or 11), Math and Science.
Second Semester is: English, PE, Math 11 (Im taking it early) and PE.
The only problem is that i don't have any fun classes. In grade nine i took Band and Drama and they were both lots of fun. I am intrested in pursuing drama or trying art but it means dropping anouther course.
We are allowed to take planning in either grade 10 or 11. It teaches us about finances, living on our own, sexual health, etc. I think it might be better to take in grade 11, except i think it will help me in my carreer choice. Also, in grade 11 there are many options, like more branches of science, and different departments of social studies, like law and physcology. I still don't know what i want to take though, so i need to leave room for options.

I'm a senior in high school and I'm graduating this week. I know for a fact that none of my grades have dropped from when I was accepted into the college I'm going to attend in the fall, except for one. I might be failing in Spanish.
It's not like I went from having A's in Spanish to failing, it was never my strong point, but this time I think I might actually be failing.
I'm taking all AP and advanced placement courses this year and I've never failed a class before in my entire life.
I really don't know what to do.
Is one bad grade going to make the college rescind my acceptance?

I just wonder Australian teachers share the same trait with US teachers. My child is in primary school in Sydney. She is a quiet achiever. She performs at very high levels above her class mates and her year. She hates to show off in front of her class. But most of her teacher(s) always marked her down to just above average because they did not like her quiet nature. And also because they often don't give kids tests. They often assess verbally and informally at primary school level. This year she is doing national wide competitions. She is going to make her teachers look stupid as she is beating other kids left, right and center. At grade 3, she is practising with tests for grade 4 and 5 from the US and Australia.

Do you experience this problem in the US? It looks like modern school is a personality contest. It has lost the character ethics long ago?
