I'm a senior in high school and I'm graduating this week. I know for a fact that none of my grades have dropped from when I was accepted into the college I'm going to attend in the fall, except for one. I might be failing in Spanish.
It's not like I went from having A's in Spanish to failing, it was never my strong point, but this time I think I might actually be failing.
I'm taking all AP and advanced placement courses this year and I've never failed a class before in my entire life.
I really don't know what to do.
Is one bad grade going to make the college rescind my acceptance?

I had a 4.0 average and never failed just like you, and then got an F in a class my senior year... a real F on my transcript. It didn't change my college acceptance a bit (and I was heading for a design school that was very hung up on grades).

My uncle, a college advisor, says that I would have had to have a significant drop in grades... a couple of F's and some D's, for the college to revoke their acceptance.

Hope that helps! Don't let it get you down. Just know that you won't be speaking Spanish in the future, and focus on your strengths :)

Doubtful. As long as you have the requirements met to get accepted then you're in the clear. If it lowers your GPA lower than the required GPA you might just get accepted into a "undecided" program or other program most colleges have set place incomming students in, who didn't meet the requirements, instead of their requested program. The school will keep a watch on your progress and if you mess up, sometimes in just one semester, the university will kick you out for lowing the schools overall GPA. My recommendation is to talk to your spanish teacher and see if he/she will give you a D-, atleast you will get your credit and wont have to pay to take it in college and dont fail anymore classes.

For a student of your dilligence(all AP) I wouldn't say getting one bad grade in Spanish is bad b/c again they do look at the whole application. And if you've already taken the required amount of years and passed in Spanish, its okay. Another thing, keep a reasonable attitude.

maybe... if depends on the college because when we went to visit ucla they told us about a girl that was admited for 2008 and got a d in calculus her admission was revoked because she showed that she didnt care about grades anymore since she had a's in math all her life...

no, it really shouldn't. colleges look at the whole you, including all of your good grades and your extracurriculars, etc. one bad grade shouldn't matter that much.

unless you're majoring in spanish, then it might be a problem. :)
