depends on the reason, if you are recalled, due to war. they can work with you.
i had to pay it back and when i did, it made me re-eligible for all of my benefits.
I would talk to the vet person at your school and see what needs to be done asap.

It goes against your credit score and can prevent you from getting any type of loan. It can be turned over for collections as well. Which means they can get a judgement against you and garnish your wages and possibly seize your assets.

They'll hound you till you pay it back. Make sure you keep a copy of the check.
