Lately, I've been reading and hearing about "Life Coaches." I find this to be an intriguing title. But is it a real profession? And how does one become a Life Coach?

Anyone can be a life coach - it requires no degree, no training, and no experience. Which pretty much means it's a bullshit job, but hey, if you get paid for it, who cares? Basically, you 'coach' people on how to turn their lives around or achieve their goals - like a psychologist, but without the actual knowledge. It's usually a new-age thing, or hippie thing.

A "Life Coach" is somewho counsels people about life. It requires many years of education. Dr. Phil is a life coach. He is a psychologist and I think he has a law degree as well.
