After seeking academic advice, I registered for General Chem I and Trig for next semester. I;ve had an introductory chem class in high school but I'm never had Trig. I do know that they are both entirely different mathematically.

What do you all think? I'm already registered for a Psychology course, a Political Science course and a Computer course. Would taking both Chem and Trig in the same semester be way too difficult? Although I was told that I have the capablitlies, I still have concerns ... basically because I work 27 hours a week ....

Regardless to what my advisors suggest, I think I should take either Chem I or Trig during the spring/ summer semester, but I'm really unsure .... maybe its possible to take both courses and maybe I should just drop Political Science?

I don't you ... please help ...

I need an ORIGINAL topic, one that's not burnt out or used too often. Suggested topics are things like self esteem, drug/alcohol abuse, team work, peer pressure, etc. Also, I have to present it in an interesting and original way (puppets, skits, costumes, etc.) Any ideas?

My 5 year old daughter has come home from school with a questionnaire asking for parents input on their anti-bullying procedure. The specific questions is: Do you have any views as to how the school curriculum could further influence anti-bullying in school?
I am finding it hard to be objective as the school have a 'no blame' policy which I don't particularly agree with and all I can think about is what I would do if someone were bullying my child!
Can anyone help me out by suggesting useful answers to this question, as personally, I would name and shame.......
Thanks in advance

I've been through the education system once already (I have an MA in History) but want to learn A-level Human Biology, partly for interest and partly because I'm thinking about a career change. I shone at it at GCSE, but never took it further and wish I had.

So, can any school or college Biology teachers out there tell me if it's feasible to get myself a head start on the content of the A-level using a syllabus, a bit of will-power and a library? I realise I'd need to be allied to an educational establishment to actually take the exams, but do you think it's possible to get to grips with this subject alone?

...try as I might to encourage literacy and numeracy with my grade sevens, they are perpetually rude, unprepared, clueless, and just plain duh. I love teaching and I enjoy my job, but I worry for the future. Do you feel it is:
- uninvolved parents
- technology (instant gratification)
- more learning disabilities
- allergies
- aliens..lol, jk. Thanks!

Hi folks, Myself and my husband are highly educated small town people, who have lived a humble life all these years. we also have raised our child to be very simple unaware of the hi fashion culture in the metros.
Now a situation has arised that we need to move to a hi tech city and mix up with hi fashioned people. Can any one advice on the dos and dont's while mixing up with people?

Especially how would I receive my husband's prospective boss who belongs to the elite circle?

My child is a chatty child but 1 teacher seems to pick on him and always lets the foul mouthed underpivilaged child off!!! I dont understand why this happens in all of her classes and she still gets the backing of the head teacher. It makes me so upset as my child was picked on in class so he stood up for himself(finally) and was heard swearing at another child in anger (the one I mentioned before) and this same teacher told the head it was a lot maore even though all the class backed my child up, they decided to exclude him for 3 days. My child is a normal child that we bring up with discipline and love and dont know what to do at this school.

I noticed that in my sons school health books that the information is based on lies, what can I do about that?

Then too if textbook answers are based on modern day propaganda and no factual reliable or valid science how can they be right? Are we grading our children on being able to tell the right lies?

If the books do not tell us the truth, but go from only widely circulated information that someone has written down and said is correct how do we teach our children the truth?

How do they learn to tell the truth without getting them in trouble at school for telling the truth rather then lying? Because if they tell the truth their answers are not going to match what is in the books and so they will be marked wrong for it even if it is based on lies.
