My child is a chatty child but 1 teacher seems to pick on him and always lets the foul mouthed underpivilaged child off!!! I dont understand why this happens in all of her classes and she still gets the backing of the head teacher. It makes me so upset as my child was picked on in class so he stood up for himself(finally) and was heard swearing at another child in anger (the one I mentioned before) and this same teacher told the head it was a lot maore even though all the class backed my child up, they decided to exclude him for 3 days. My child is a normal child that we bring up with discipline and love and dont know what to do at this school.

Make an appointment to see the Head teacher. Try and make sure everything they tell you is backed up in writing (although they usually try to shy away from this). Then contact your local education authority (telephone numbers are held under LEA on your local council website).
Good luck

You need to speak with the Headteacher in the first place and if you don't get anywhere then I strongly suggest that you write a letter to the Chair of Governors asking them to investigate your concerns under the auspices of the Grievance Committee. Give them as much information and evidence as you can. There is no need for a child to be bullied by a teacher like this.

The Headteacher has a duty to publicly back their teachers where they can, but there may be other less public concerns especially if this is happening in all her other classes. Exclusion for 3 days seems to be a very harsh punishment for swearing, even if your child was guilty of it. I would certainly be upset.

Good luck.

Sorry I dont know the answer but I can contribute my experience. My kid was getting bullied in P1 or 2. The bully was very sneaky and charming so no-one could believe he was doing all this hitting etc. We had taught our son not to hit back, partly because that gives the bully the chance to claim you hit him first, which gets you nowhere. In the end my lad shouted 'you bastard', the bully reported him (!) and my boy got a ticking off - but the school started to take notice. It does sound like your child was provoked and swore in desperation, as mine did. With a teacher who was unlikely to support him, what other choice did he have? Would he have been excluded if he had hit the other child instead? I suspect not, and that's a not a good message for a school to be giving.

Maybe you should go and speak with the head teacher to try and sort something out. When my brother was getting bullied my dad told him to hit the other boy because once he had done it once the boy wouldn't keep hitting him! Well he hit him and my mum had to go and see the head teacher, when it was explained what had been happening and the advice my dad gave there was nothing she could do and the bulling stopped.

Hope this helps (i don't condone violence)
