I'm an accounting major student. I took Intermediate Accounting II twice. Slacked off both time. Got an F the first time and a C- the second time. Should I take it a third time to get a better grade? I know I am capable of getting a B or better.

I have to write a statement of purpose to transfer to a university for my undergrad degree. What exactly is one? What should it include? I have started an essay about an experience I had as a child that inspired me to become a doctor. Is this what I should be doing, or do I write about my goals? or do I write about my major, which is biology? Any tips?

I have heard many people say they don't count but my school people(princpal, teachers, counslers etc.) say they do. They said if CAL is deciding between you another applicant and the grades that really counted(soph. jr.) were the same then they will take a look at your freshman grades. Is this true?

I know everyone is busy, so I'll try to keep this short... given the criteria below, what sorts of schools would be reasonable to apply to?

- Graduated High school in 1998, second to last in my class.
- ACT Composite score was 23.
- First college course ever taken was College Algebra in 1999, passed with a "D".
- Enlisted in the military in 2000.
- While in service, I took 9 hrs courses with 4.0 GPA.
- Maintained a 4.0 performance in every course I've taken since.
- Honorably discharged veteran as of last year at age 27.
- Now serving in the Reserves.
- Currently attending a liberal arts college in TX.
- Now entering 2nd semester of enrollment in my school's honors program.
- Now entering 2nd semester on the President's honor roll.
- I've now accumulated 38 credit hours with cumulative GPA of 3.72.
- I'll be re-taking College Algebra to replace that "D" with an "A".

i am going to college out of state. i dont know exactly where yet, but i have a list of places to apply to (i am currently a junior). i knew out of state tuition was higher, but when i saw just how much higher that almost caused a heart attack. colleges are typically around the 4,000-5,000 range for in state and well over 10,000 for out of state. ok, now that you have the background information...my question is: how common is it for out of state people to get scholarships or financial aid? and how much money is the scholarship/financial aid?

i belong to the national honors society and my average is 94. i also attend high school in a state that is known for an excellent education system

he gave me a C when i had an A going into the final which was 10% of our grade so no way can i go from a C to an A from that. In college is there a certain amount of time to fix the grade before it is official? I am scared because it is really unfair when i worked so hard in that class and he gave me a C.

I'm a 10th grader in high school. I want to become a Lawyer. Where should I go? I live in New Jersey and want to go to Rutgers. I want to make a lot of money. What courses should I take in college? Should I go for my masters? do firms have to pay you more if they hire you and you have a masters? whats pre law? does new jersey have like a 5 year college where i can get a masters without having to go 6+ years?

Also, as far as grades go in high school, what should I be shooting for? (Mind you, I'm smart but im definately not Hardvard material, but I'm a damn hard worker). Should I shoot for getting all CP (college prep) courses next year? Honors? AP? are honors really neccasary?

If someone could answer all these that would help me out so much, I really wanna at least get an idea about these things.

I studied my butt off for my first semester in college. I went 3 days in a row without sleep to get the grades but instead I get freakin A minuses. I'm really upset that my GPA is only a 3.7 when I only had a 3.3 in High School. This is upsetting. Does this mean all chances of a 4.0 just went out the window?

Btw... I'm auditioning next semester. I plan to be a music education major.

I had a unweighted GPA of 2.8 that counts sophomore and fresh years, but now I'm currently in my junior year. I got mostly all A's and B's sophomore year but freshman year was mostly C's and D's. This year I plan to still get plenty of A's and B's again. I'm involved in a community service club, the class of 09' club, CSF(California Scholarship Federation), and a school pride club. I'm also considering joining track and field this year. I haven't yet taken my SAT's this year though but I'm planning too. Also I had my heart set on USC but now as I'm getting older i am keeping my options open.

So I've read in an article that in most states, that any MD can perform plastic surgery without board certification. That means anyone from gynecologist to possibly even your dentist may be able to legally perform cosmetic surgery procedures. ABPS (American Board of Plastic Surgery) qualification includes graduation from an accredited medical school and completion of five years of additional training as a resident surgeon, three in general surgery and two in plastic surgery. So what are the limitations of the cosmetic surgical procedures that can be perfomed by MDs?
