The only one I had heard of was Penn Foster High School, so I looked them up. Ashworth is a clear scam - they give degrees for "life experience" - in other words, they are a diploma mill. Nobody accepts degrees like that, and it is a huge waste of your money. Stratford Career Institute was an old-fashioned correspondence school which has transitioned to more modern "distance learning". If you are located in some country where normal schooling does not exist, then maybe I could see a reason for this, but it is a for-profit distance learning school, and while slightly better than the Ashworths of the world, these also get very little respect and are also relatively expensive. Penn Foster basically offered GEDs only until a couple of years ago, when they decided to expand into distance learning, so they are now very much like Stratford. Again, I wouldn't waste my time. I don't know what you want to study, but you would do much better to go to a community college, or to the distance-learning division of a traditional university, or to a quality trade school.
