stat is easy as long as you memorize all the formulas and don't slack off... I took it last summer and got an A easily.

Well, it depends on who you ask. For me, I found statistics to be much easier than college algebra, but I always struggled with algebra, even in high school, so that could be a big part of why I found it so challenging in college. I took stats in high school and did well, so stats in college was no real shock. I guess my suggestion to you is this, if you did well in high school algebra, take college algebra. If you did poorly in high school algebra, take stats, but make sure you understand the formulas and do your homework on a regular basis or you'll be lost.

I would recommend you start back with Algebra. In order to succeed in statistics you need to have a solid back ground in algebra. The ability to manipulate functions, solve algebraic expressions and deal with sums. If you have a back ground in calculus then you can get into even more interesting stuff in statistics.
I'm sure you will be able to do well in either course but I would suggest that to have the most success and the best experience refresh your algebra skills and then go into statistics.

I had to take both and took algebra first. Personally, I liked stats better. Check and see you may only need one or both or one may be a prereq to the other. Depends on your school and major. Also maybe take a placement test. I did and had to take some prep classes which, even though I wasn't thrilled about it, REALLY helped me when I got to the "real" classes.

Stat is really REALLY easy. College algebra isn't bad at all either by any means, but if you've been out a while you might want to work with real numbers only at first.

I believe that algebra should be taken before statistics and is easier.
I went through five years of college. I always found statistics a challenge.

Take statistics it is so much easier it only deals with the standard deviation and you only need to know how to use the calculator, its very easy furthermore its all not math also reading is involved with the probability
