Higher Education (University +) (Education & Reference) - November 2007

I'm broke, I have over $30,000 in student loans and I am stuck doing admin assistant work,which I am not good at. Single partent, I don't have a job right now ( I have been looking for the past 3 months), I would like to get a masters in marketing and finance and also minor in music. I do have a B.S in business management. I keep getting offers to sell life insurance. Coming from the usa.

if being a pilot is so easy (just a 1 year course), such a lotta earning, why isnt their big craze of it?

why do u have to study so many years, instead u could just be a pilot and earn in thousand thousands
i know the investment is huge but it is nothing worth the comfort
still i dont see a lotta people interested in it, not big craze

what degree at 33??

man you guys are killing me. i was considering going to school to get my ba in psychology but from what im reading unless i want to be in school for 10 years and MAYBE land a job thats a bad idea. ok, so what about social science, nope once again horrible idea, from what i read. ok folks im 33 yrs young and i want to go back and earn my ba. i suck at math and computers (blunt, sorry) so where does that leave me? we have our first baby right around the corner and daddy needs a better career. i dont want to be a cop, or fire fighter either..lol..i want my ba and i want a nice suit and tie job but everything im intrested in all ive read is complete crap and waste of my time.
let me guess nurseing..lol..no thanks. my intrests are all over the place from history, politics, law, psychology, and fitness..lol..any ideas? seems like all of mine get shut down when i reasearch on yahoo answers..lol

Nurse or CPA? What should I do?

I want to be a nurse sooo bad sometimes but I'm afraid...?
I was in the nursing program at a community college for 1/2 of this semester before I dropped out. I was passing the tests, but became stressed out during check-off. Perhaps it's because I'm not a hands on person. I've wanted to be a nurse since I was fourteen, but my teacher said that I should consider a desk job since I am extremely shy, sensitive, and underweight. ( Stress caused me to lose 10 lbs during nursing school). I'm not sure maybe I should be an accountant? Everyone describes me as an introvert. The one thing that scares me about nursing is blood and IVs. I am not sure if I can overcome this fear. I would like a nice quiet stress - free repetitive job, however I also want to help people. What should I choose nursing (RN, BS ) or accounting (CPA)?

What is the point in going to university when there is no guarentee of getting a good job from it?

I went to Cambridge Uni from 1989-1992 and graduated with a 2:2
I took a year out. I couldn't get a job until 1996 on a salary of £11000 a year, and that was only as a result of telling lies at the job interview. But I had to do it so f*** him.
Since then I have done OK earning enough to save a quarter million over the past 10 years. But I think it is just luck, and the s*** is going to hit the fan very soon what with this sub-prime.

university and most other kinds of professional investment are a con.

Is Economics an okay major for UC schools if I'm interested in business?

I'm doing the University of California application and I'm not sure what I want to do later. Possibly pursue an MBA but then again I'm interested in actuarial science.
What would be a major that would lead the way to graduate studies with either career path? economics/ math??

NYU or UC school??

ok heres the thing. I absolutely love NYU and all that new york
has to offer. NYU is my dream school and i seriously want to go there but my parents dont want me to move far away from home especially since i live in cali and i dont have realatives that live there anymore (my cousin lived in Manhattan but later moved to San Fran.) So basically i'll be alone, i think thats what scares my parents the most and not to mention that NYU
is expensive. Both schools are really hard to get in but Ive lived in Cali all my life and i love it but I'll never be young again
and i think it would be soo cool to live in another state especially NY. I would love to go to NYU
What should I do?

i want to be a radiology tech im 35 and there is no school even close to me anyone know of a online/clinical program. I am in texas. And i would move to into college housing , if im not to old, also but it would be about a year and i want to get started very soon.
