Hey I'm a junior in high school and I'm wondering what credentials I need to get into Duke and Georgetown university. I really screwed up my record my freshman and sophmore year(academically speaking), but now I'm in honor roll. I won't take the SAT's till this coming spring and I'm planning on doing an internship this coming summer. O know that I need to get a good grade on the SAT's and such. I am currently...
-In Model U.N.
-In Debate
-I've been a member of Cross Country for 3 years
-I've been in advanced choir for 3 years.
-Member of National Scholars of America
-Many volunteer hours

Do I have a shot? I'm hoping, whereever I attend, I recieve a scholarship.I really wanna be realistic so I know which schools to apply to next year. Thank you!

-Tiff

I am starting school next month, for cosmetology. I am feeling very torn between 2 schools. One is closer to my house and is where I had originally planned on going. The other is further and holds classes for 8 1/2 hours daily instead of 7 1/2. (This matters because I have a one year old son, and that will take time away from him, and add to my childcare costs.) I have gotten some bad feedback and good feedback about the first school, but the 2nd school seems to have nicer facilites. If anyone is from the MN area, the first school is Scot Lewis (and uses Milady curriculum) and the 2nd is Regency (and uses Pivot Point) I am looking for advice on which school to pick. Please help!

don't list anything that isn't one of those. unless you feel you absolutely have to. to be more specific, currently I live in NYC, and really want to go to LA for college because i want to get away, but it still has to be a major city because I'm to used to city life. I want to major in film, and NYC & LA have the best film schools. (UCLA, USC, NYU, NYFI) I know california has hollywood and so thats where you the business is, but NY has the second biggest movie industry. and if i went to LA, i feel like i would have a lot more competition. what do you think is the best choice, all things considered?

I would like to ultimately become a doctor that's why I would get a B.Sc, but I also love business and would like a BBA. But I was thinking I might want to be a lawyer later on. But anyway...can I get a degree in both at the same time at the same university? I'm only in high school, but am planning ahead. Would I still be in school for 4 years? Or am I crazy in this (I think I have heard of people doing this before). What would the course load be like, etc.? Or the university offers a BBA with a joint major in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, but how would I get the other science requirements for medical school?

I had recently turned 20 this summer and the strangest thing happened? I realised I was going nowhere in my life. I had dropped out of university and was just doing part-time jobs and pretty much not enjoying what I was doing. Since then I have started up doing an English course to bring my grades up to go to a better university and I've also taken up a music course because it's what I'm interested in. I just wanted to know if everyone else went through this strange type of quater-life crisis or if its just me growing up and getting sense. I also wanted to know how old you should be to start taking up a career, although I don't like office work I know I'll eventually be working there so just wanted advise on that. What you think?

Well i have posted a question before, i messed up in high school. I currently am in my senior year :-p so excited: -p.. My Total GPA is a 2.56...my 10-12 Academic GPA is 2.27 :(...my SAT score is a 1230...
The Issues and Questions
1)Well my junior year i had a D in English (1st Semester), a D in Physics (1st Semester) and a D in Algebra 2 (2nd Semester)(had a good reason why i got a D in algebra 2, my teacher was pregnant and we had a stupid lady who didnt know anything for the entire 2nd semester)..My question for this is, im applying to CSULB and CSUF, i know there is an option for "grade in progress," but i dont know if i will get accepted...
2) I take the ACT in December, before the deadline for the admission applications. With my GPA and SAT can i get into CSULB or CSUF??
I know a JC will be better but i wanna start off in a University, cause my mom is tripping out that in a JC i wont get the same degree in the end as a 4 year Uni...but i told her i do...but she still wants me to

I am not sure what to do with my life but I am considering going to pharmacy school. I know that I have to have the prerequisites before being accepted. I have an undergraduated degree in social work, but I did not have to take many science classes and would still need to take many of the prerequisites. I think the only sciences I have taken that would apply to prerequisites is BIOL 101. I do have much of the social science and a little of the math prerequisites. I was just wondering if I should just take the prerequisites at a local college, or would it be better for me to just try to get into a six year program. I was thinking of just starting over and doing the six year program because it probably would take me two years to get the prerequisites done anyway unless i calculated wrong. Is it possible to enter a six year program and get credit for the social science and math courses I took in college even though I graduated?

The inventory of Lemon Company was destroyed by fire on March 1. From an examination of the accounting records, the following data for the first 2 months of the year are obtained: Sales $51,000, Sales Returns and Allowances $1,000, Purchases $31,200, Freight-in $1,200, and Purchase Returns and Allowances $1,400. Determine the merchandise lost by fire, assuming:

(a) A beginning inventory of $20,000 and a gross profit rate of 30% on net sales.

***I know the formula but I am not sure what to do with sales and purchases returns/allowances and freight-in....Not sure where to add or subtract from for those 3 things***

Hi there. I am currently a high school senior and applying to college this fall. Can you guys help me out and give me some feedback and comments on how my chances look? I want to get into UCLA, UCSD, or USC!

Unweighted GPA= ~3.7
Weighted GPA= ~4.0
AP courses taken= 6 (passed with 3's or 4's on all butt 1)
Honor courses taken= 1 (English)
SAT1 attempts: 1690, 1900, (waiting for 3rd score)
SAT2 attempts: still need to take!

Took around 4 college math courses in 8th grade
Took Calc AB and BC in Freshman/Sophomore year
Eagle Scout
7 years of Taekwondo (2nd degree blackbelt)
2 years of after school tutoring (still current)
No clubs, no community service

What do you guys think? How can I improve my chances? I am most worried about my GPA, I received a C+ once in junior year, (got really lazy).

I appreciate it!

I have allways hated group work. I am the classic type A personality over acheiver and i would get stuck with people who would shoot for a C rather than an A. they did not contribute and if they did there work was sub standard. In High school i would have to redo their work to make sure we got a good grade . In college i started labeling who did what to make sure they knew my work was good. One time one girl never did anything i did not put her name on the assigment and she failed .
What are your experiences with group work even at you jobs
