Hey I'm a junior in high school and I'm wondering what credentials I need to get into Duke and Georgetown university. I really screwed up my record my freshman and sophmore year(academically speaking), but now I'm in honor roll. I won't take the SAT's till this coming spring and I'm planning on doing an internship this coming summer. O know that I need to get a good grade on the SAT's and such. I am currently...
-In Model U.N.
-In Debate
-I've been a member of Cross Country for 3 years
-I've been in advanced choir for 3 years.
-Member of National Scholars of America
-Many volunteer hours

Do I have a shot? I'm hoping, whereever I attend, I recieve a scholarship.I really wanna be realistic so I know which schools to apply to next year. Thank you!

wait I"m sorry, let me rephrase the last detail. I'm in 4 AP classes, which are my academic classes. In the past, I only took about 2 AP classes. ok, sorry about that.

You don't really give us enough information.

A lot of it It depends on how much you screwed up your GPA in your first two years, how well you do on your SATs, how well you ar edoing now and if you are taking AP and Honors classes.

The fact that you have turned things around academically will get you into a decent school. But it is quite possible that that the top schools like Duke are out of your reach.

colleges do not care what style of grades to procure in eighth grade. a three.8 and a 4.0 is robust - while you're severe approximately those faculties, you like a minimum of a three.9 standard for 4 years. which potential not extra B's allowed EVER! you may get a 2100+ on the SAT. in case you don't get a minimum of a 2000, you're heavily restricting your recommendations. For the ACT, a 31 or 32 is what you'll be aiming for.

with your credentials it could be a roll of the dice, alot of kids are going to be better than you.. those first two years may have killed your shot, but try....make sure to get that sat and act... also look into university of virginia, another very fine school... ..lastly gtown (very pricey, but could be good in the future for networking)..

ps, see if they offer early admit.. never hurts
