Since i am nearing the age of going to university/highschool the topic of universities are discussed a lot between my friends and family. My aunt was telling my mom about her friend who's daughter went to watever college, which was ONLY in the top 30. isn't that already really good? and my friend's brother went to a university which was "only" in the top 20s. isn't that really good too???

I have been reading an interesting debate on how, generally, Europeans are far more advanced than Americans throughout elementary school, as well as high school. During these years, many Europeans learn multiple languages (as opposed to Americans, who mostly just speak English) and take most courses sooner than Americans would.

However...

After high school, is that where the European/Japanese advantage ends? I ask because it always seem that many European or Japanese students come over to the U.S. and several of the top-tier universities are in the United States. I have read a few stories on how after high school, many international universities are, frankly, horrible, with inferior professors and whatever edge gained before seems lost.

So my question: does whatever advantage Europe/Japan have during the elementary/high school years become negated by what seems to be a large advantage by the U.S. AFTER high school? I ask out of complete curiosity. Thanks!

I would like to thank you for taking the time to meet with me for the internship position.

As our interview progressed, I grew confident that I will be able to expand my knowledge within the firm. The fast paced, multi-tasking environment is perfect for my capabilities.

As I mentioned during the interview, I have strong multi-tasking and determination needed to accomplish tasks that are to be fulfilled. I feel that as an intern I will develop great knowledge from experiences within your company.

Mr. , I thank you again for considering me for the internship position. I look forward to hearing from you within the next couple of weeks. I also look forward to possibly sharing my experiences with you.

Sincerely,

They are awfully cheap. Is this a bogus degree? - I know it would not be worth as much as some top schools but would it be worth anything?

I was wonder, how do online schools monitor or keep up with practicums? One would think that they would not be able to considering that the professors do not have face to face meetings with the people that they are working under and that people are generally so spread out from one another. If anyone knows the answer to this, let me know. Thanks.

OK I have a big problem. I am in 12th grade right now and I am starting to fill out my college applications, and they need the transcripts submited too. Last year my average was 90 / 100. But when I went to my guidance councelor to ask for my GPA they told me that it was 2.7. How's that possible? Isn't 2.7 like a C or something? I am having a debate with my parents right now. What should I do? I know that my GPA is wrong. Everybody in my school is complaining about their GPA. What should I do to make everybody go to the gudance and do something about it because with this GPA I don't have anywhere to go. They can't ruin my chances in the future. I hate my gudance councelor. What do you suggest we do as a senior class to take care of this problem? Help! I am desperate!!!! :(
