Which school do you think has a better reputation on a national level? Or are they equal? Which is the better school?

It's really incredible, people in college are so different from random people outside of college.

People in college seem very self-assured, independent, articulate, and assertive. It's such a strange transition from high school. This is my freshman year, and there's no way I can compete. Does college make people develop this sort of personality, or does it simply attract those with it in the first place?

I hope I can be like that one day. I don't want to be the needy little girl who doesn't know anything. So what explains it besides age? Because I notice a difference between college students & the general population, too.

I am a freshmen and all my classes are in the Honors level. I usually make straight A's but I still might want to go to summer school. I think it could even better prepare me for my sophmore year since I am planning on taking my first AP class. Will Ivy League (or highly selective) colleges not like the idea that I took summer school. What do you think?

I always wanted to get my PhD, but I came from a poor upbringing so instead of going to college I went into the job field. (I did get into a 12mos training program and became an LPN) My husband has encouraged me to go back to school and is saying "Go for what you want, babe. Go and acheive your dreams." I am currently in college, and it will be 7 years before I can achieve that dream. I am 26, I have 2 kids (ages 6yrs old and 9mos old) I feel like that dream is impossible, because as a kid I was always told that it was. I also feel bad because I want to contribute financially to the family. And right now I only go to work 1 day a wk while in school full-time. I am really just considering taking the fast route out by just getting my RN even though I want more... I dont know what to do...

I attend a predominant magnet school in Philadelphia and I was wondering if my 3.90 G.P.A. was good enough for me to even consider applying to colleges like UPenn, Colgate, and Carnegie Mellon. (I read somewhere online that a 3.9 G.P.A. was bad so thats why I wanted to know.) My cumulative grade point average is 3.90 out of 4.0 and my cumulative weighted average is 96.1. These are the from my 9th and 10th grade year. I'm in my junior year now and I'm trying really hard by taking mostly A.P. and honor courses. I would greatly appreciate it if someone would respond. Thanks in advance, Jerry

I either want to major in Psychology and be a clinical psychologist. Or I want to major in photography.
I love both of them. But i feel like psychology would be the logical choice, but my heart tells me photography because its my passion.

Is there a way that I can have them as a double major? How do I do that?? Im a senior in HS right now and the schools Im applying to are:
-NYU
-UT austin
-Clemson (south carolina)
-Duke
-Pratt (great art school, but doesnt offer psychology)
-St. Johns (Queens, NY. Offers photography as a major)
-St. Edwards (Austin, TX)

What should I do? Please help!!!

I didn't do very well in High School making C's & D's. I wasn't interested in college then and I just did what I had to do to pass and graduate. Now that I am 27 & at a low-paying, dead end job & I would like to go to Dalton State. I never took any test for college while I was in school & of course my grade point average was not good at all. Do you think I would be able to get accepted into Dalton State & would I be eligible for any kind of grants like the hope scholarships or something? I have always lived in Georgia so that wouldn't be a problem. Thanks for your help.

But, let's say you want to change your college major from Marketing to Finance and you graduate with a Finance Degree. Is it possible to land a Finance job title with ABC Co. when you completed a Marketing internship there?

Hi, I have a bunch of questions about applying to graduate school in Social Psychology.

1) what is the difference between a "statement of purpose" and "personal statement", do schools ask for both or are they just two names for two slightly different things? Are they usually 2 pages in length single spaced or double spaced?

2) I know grad schools usually require a vita or resume, but where do they go in the application especially if the school does not provide you space for one when applying online?

3) if the application is done online should you compile the rest of the information (rec letters, transcripts, vita, etc) yourself and then send them all off at once in a package or should they all be sent separately?

Ok that's all, if anyone has any extra tid bits though they are more than welcome. Thanks so much :)

I have spent the past 20 years working from home for my family business and my family. Now that the business has downsized and the kids are in high school I would like to find a job. I polished up my resume and started applying, I'm college educated and have work experience, but I have not received any response from employers. I'm beginning to think that my age is a factor. Is there some way I can hide my age on my resume? I don't actually give it out, but the dates for my education and experience give it away.

I can not get a straight answer from anyone, so I thought I would try here! I am a Junior majoring in Psych, but am not sure what to do about a masters. I have heard pros and cons about both Psychology and Social Work. I just want to do therapy simple, one on one therapy, hopefully specializing in eating disorders? Any ideas?

I'm planning to get a business degree in the United States but I'm am unsure of what type of business I should major in or even where should i study in.

I'm more of an entrepreneur-minded person and I have look into Business Administration for some time now. I'm more of creative person and I love to challenge new ideas.

I am also looking for a university that offers cheap and reasonable fee and good education with good credibility. I'm currently looking into University of Nebraska but I am also interested in other options.

Thnx
