Global studies, I'm not even sure what that covers. History is at least a good stepping stone to several professions, professor/teacher, librarian, historical researcher, archeaologist, curator, etc.

I guess it depends on who is teaching it - history can be taught in a way where students only get one side of the story (for example, the Battle of Little BigHorn was a massacre for the whites, but not for the Indians; however, when Indians were killed at Thanksgiving, it was just a battle).
Global studies is the same way - are you getting only Westernized views?
So I guess it could be either depending on who the professor is.

History is a good major if you want to go into law, business, or academics.
Global studies is a euphemism for career student. Just read a newspaper and you can pass the class.
But both pale in comparison to the most useless major ever created... communications.

I'd say "global studies" as it sounds more like a dressed-up term for geography.

You sound like the typical uneducated and ignorant american student. People like you are the reason why your country is ridiculed throughout the world. You should hang your head in shame.
