this happened to me during an art history final. i ran to the professor's office, no makeup, no bra, pajama pants, hair crazy messed up, with tears in eye...

and he let me take it right then and there!

ONLY because i had never missed one before. it really just depends on the teacher.

good luck!

Call the professor immediately and let him know honestly what happened. I disagree with the person who says you can't use the alarm as an excuse. If it is the truth, I would much rather hear that than some stupid made-up story. Basically, you need to throw yourself at his mercy. Rather than suggesting next week, ask if there is ANYTHING you can do - he may say next week, or he may have something else, but if you ask for a whole week extension, he may really assume that you weren't ready. I'm a professor, and the only thing I won't tolerate is someone who waits too long to let me know what the problem was - by then I assume they blew it off and are now lying to salvage their grades.

Show up in his office (or his classroom) right now (don't stop to shower), with your project in hand. Explain the situation, and show him that you are are ready. Ask him what you can do. Let him decide if you can go next week.

But the important thing right now is fast action.

e-mail your professor immediately. That's the first step you should take. Then try stopping by (if possible with your project). Some professors will be more understanding if they see the work completed. The sooner you get in touch with him though the more likely he'll be to allow you to make up the work.

THis is a tough situation..you can't really use the "oops my alarm didnt go off" excuse so I think you may be in trouble. May be you can talk to your teacher and explain that you will do whatever it takes to retry.

Go into where ever it is, and take your project, if your teacher is has any sense, he will understand

He will realise you made the effort to come in and hand it in

You need to speak with the teacher in person and explain what happened! He should let you take it!
