I am a freshmen and all my classes are in the Honors level. I usually make straight A's but I still might want to go to summer school. I think it could even better prepare me for my sophmore year since I am planning on taking my first AP class. Will Ivy League (or highly selective) colleges not like the idea that I took summer school. What do you think?

You can, and no school would look down on it. However, you might do even better, since you are already getting A's in Honors-level classes, and the regular classes at your school might just bore you. Whether or not your family can afford it (because they do offer financial aid), look into enrichment programs like CTY (the Center for Talented Youth), which offer programs for gifted pre-college students, usually at college campuses. You would be with other bright students and might be better-challenged, and those things look very good to selective colleges.

Summer school would be fine... especially if it would take the stress of our load during the school year. The reason I say this is because no ivy league or top school is going to accept you just b/c you have good grades. You have to be extremely well-rounded. You must play sports, join clubs, show leadership, etc, etc.

At first glance, someone who put all their efforts into school and left no time for other activities, isn't very well rounded.

it's perfectly fine to take a summer course. It can help show how well rounded one is. Plus you can get more credits.
