This very much depends on the university. I know of some in which they have hundreds of students in each class (the most I've heard of was 1500!), and obviously the professor never gets to know the students personally in that kind of situation. On the other hand, I work at a university where I usually have less than 40 students in each class, the faculty do their own advising, and so we get to know the students pretty well. Having said that, though, as much as I like some of my students, I never want people to think that I am playing favorites, so there is a need to maintain a professional distance. I'm on Facebook and some of my students have become my "friends", but I have a professional picture of myself up there and I never discuss personal issues with them on there, although I may comment when someone says something about school (one student today posted that she was thinking of doing study abroad, and I responded that it was a great idea). I do find that a lot of my students do become close friends after they graduate, more than when they are in my classes. I'm still friends with one person from the first class I ever taught, 28 years ago. I like my students, but I can't cross that line and develop truly personal relationships with them. It is even worse for most of my male colleagues, who can easily be accused of sexual harassment. I've been asked to talk to some students who got so close to them that it made them nervous.

At one factor North u . s . changed into coated with glaciers. This changed into said as glaciation. It changed into in charge for a lot of our mountains, valleys, lakes and streams. it truly is an undeniable reality. the position did the ice bypass? It warmed up and melted. international warming is actual, the actual question is "how a lot do people make contributions to the approach?". If the answer is a lot, the subsequent questions are, "if we do not something what stands proud because the outcome", and "if we do something is there any threat in preventing or slowing the wear". it truly is Europe it quite is greatest the anti-international warming charge and we are in many situations competing in a international monetary gadget. EPA is a overdue-comer to the game or perhaps then they're in many situations purely collecting data. With understand to EPA, you're likely too youthful to undergo in techniques once you may mild some rivers on hearth with a journey, there have been recurring fish kills alongside rivers by using chemical discharges, and the air in business parts changed into heavy with smog and the smell of poisonous chemical substances. So we've come some distance in holding human well being and the provision of organic substances for leisure use. i'm an environmental engineer and do comprehend that typically EPA is going overboard. the rules are frequently very inflexible. a similar funds that you're required to spend to fix a small quantity of pollution could actual shrink a large number of pollution if spent elsewhere. I actual have had some circumstances the position the necessary restore actual produced more desirable pollution than not having any treatment equipment. notwithstanding it quite is authorities for you, inflexible and unyielding and turning out to be. One very last factor. at the same time as you look in many situations in contact about the the following and now, authorities has the responsibility to ascertain environmental high quality for destiny generations. The question isn't "how undesirable are issues as we talk" it truly is "if fossil gasoline use maintains to toughen on the present price of boom, how enormous will the challenge be generations form now, and do we attain a level of environmental damage from which their is not any achieveable restore. With understand to greenhouse gases, some human beings imagine we are already on the point of no go back. I disagree notwithstanding it quite is someone opinion from someone it quite is fullyyt somewhat universal with the challenge.

Well I think that depends on the university you go to and what discipline you are persuing. If you go to a large public university where your classes are in auditorium, it's easy to slip by unnoticed unless you are in sports or in theatre because then you will have more personal contact with the professors. If you go to a private university as I did, you will have much more contact and accountability. Overall, college is what you make it, have fun, study hard, stay balanced and congratulations in advance, on your success.

A lot of it depends on the size of the school.
I went to a medium sized university where we had a lot of contact with our professors and developed friendships with some of them. But I went to large schools for my graduate degrees where it is harder for the professors to get to know many of their students.
If you are concerned about this, look at the average class size for the schools that interest you.
As a side comment -- use spell checker for any papers you hand in. You really should know how to spell simple words like 'any' or 'develop' or 'friendships.'

For the most part, professors try to keep their distance because they don't want to be accused of certain things. However, if you just need help in the classroom, they are great! They student body is always really great too!

i think it really depends on what school you go to. Larger state schools are more likely to have less student teacher interaction just because of the overwhelming amount of students. However you kind of make college what you want by your choices, if you want to make relationships with your professors most like talking to students and what not, you just have to make the first move, because they more than likely aren't.

It really depends on what school you go to. i go to a very small college with about 120 students. it's like a small town where everybody knows everybody. i like the teachers here because if your absent they will email you to see if ur ok or if ur not doing good on assignments they will personally help you study but they can't be accused of anything because it's like at a public study hall. i've heard that at larger university it's like ur just a number and if ur missing oh well too bad. at my school it's more personal and they are willing to help u out and listen to your situation and accomadate you. (I go to Mount St. Mary's College, Los Angeles, CA) it's a good school if ur interested www.msmc.la.edu
