The program at Berkeley is not a professional degree and is only accepted for partial credit toward licensure in California by the State Board of Architectural Examiners while the program at San Luis Obispo is a full professional degree (5 years) that is fully accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board. Depending on what your ultimate goal is (working, getting licensed, continuing school), you should choose accordingly.

Below is a ranking of Architecture Schools.

You will notice that UC-Berkeley (note the spelling) is very high on the list -- and Cal Poly is pretty far down.

Most of the schools in the CSU system aren't particularly good. The Cal Poly schools are the best of the CSU system -- but schools in the UC system are among the best in the country. Berkeley is the best of the lot -- being one of the best universities in the world.

If you can get into Berkeley, you would be a fool to choose Cal Poly over it.

----EDIT----
Bryant is wrong about Berkeley not having an undergraduate program in Architecture. See the second link.

Berkeley is definately better. Cal Poly Saint Luis Obispo is better than Ponoma in architecture (not better than Cal though)

If you can get into Berkeley, go there. Its one of the best in the country.
