Go to the guidance office and ask for a student copy of your transcript. If they ask why just tell them that a college advisor wants to see it.
Then take all of your classes on that transcript and put them in an excel spreadsheet, assign each grade points instead of grade, and let excel calc the GPA for you by summing the points column.
I'd use A=4 B=3 C=2 D=1 F=0
ignore all - and + grades for this
see if what you calculate is close to what they say.
Your GPA and class standing are probably listed on that transcript.
Don't argue about their numbers until you're sure their numbers are wrong.
Note: guidance counselors don't calculate your GPA - they just read what the computer tells them. But, they know how to calculate it manually. If you ask, as though you're generally interested in how that works, they will likely be excited that someone wants to learn something and show you how it's done.

If you are positive your GPA isn't a 2.7, take your old report cards from the following years in and show them to your guidance counselor. If you do not have this information, search for someone who does and who is getting the wrong GPA. If something isn't solved by that, you could also take it to the Principal. Furthermore, you could go to the board of education of your school to fight it.
But no your future is not ruined. You will be able to take classes at a Community and Technical College without a doubt. That also helps raise your GPA to get in the better college that you wanted before.
Hope this helps out. I'm also a senior and I know how stressful this stuff is.

You say that last year your average was 90/100, but what was your average before that? They are looking at all of your grades, from 9th grade on. A 2.7 would normally be a B-, and if your grades before last year were lower than they were last year, that is possible.
Having said that, I can't believe that your school won't give you your GPA until it is time to apply to college. Are they hoping none of you will get in? That's crazy! I'll bet if they had told you two years ago what your GPA was, you would have worked to bring it up.

Find out how many points are awarded for each A, B, C, D, & F. Then look at your past report cards and calculate it yourself. You *should* come up with the same number the school has. If you do not, double & triple check your math and even have your parents calculate it. Then if it's still different your parents can contact the school about it and if necessary the school board to address the issue.

the 4 point grading scale works like this:
4.0- all A's
3.0- all B's
2.0- all C's
1.0- all D's
0.0- all E's
so 2.7 is in the B- C+ range
maybe the GPA that they are using isnt including your electives.

Sounds like there is a computer problem at your school. This is not unheard of. They will fix it if you keep on the about it.
If they dont, you can sue like crazy.
