Rice and Cornell are probably extreme long shots with a 1720 SAT (I'd heard a minimum of 2150 for Rice), but you have a decent chance at the others.

WTG Girl!! Your chances are excellent. My niece had a similar scholastic resume, only no athletics. Her heart was set on Rice Univeristy in Houston (which she graduates from this coming May). She received offers from ALL kinds of Colleges and Universities. Even had an offer of a full scholarship to Baylor. She got a small scholarship from the local Spanish TV station, as well as a few other scholarships. She was also a caucasian female, raised by a single mother, no father involved. Mom has some college but not a graduate.

I don't know about St. Edwards, Rice, or Southwestern, but I'm sure Texas A&M is a safety, and Rutgers might be as well...
your GPA and class rank is great, and so are all your extracurriculars! But you ACT, SAT, and AP scores aren't. If they were better, I'd say you were good to go for Davidson, Cornell, and Rice...but now they're basically very much reaches. Find some more targets.
