It really depends on what you want to do with your life. Specifically, not just get a good job. Statistically, people with more education make more money. I'm sure that plenty of people will tell you to just go to college, for that reason. I believe that so many people have degrees they don't use because they go to college first and figure out what they really want to do second.

This doesn't mean that you can't change your mind about your major. Being able to take a bunch of different things and find out you like something you didn't think you would enjoy is one of the great things about college. However, if you know that you really like working with people, that you want to do something where you do research, or whatever works for you... that will keep you in the ballpark while you're checking out your options.

Make sure that you do well enough in high school to have options, whatever they are, when you graduate. Employers who get applications from high school students or recent high school graduates want to know about grades and extracurriculars, just like colleges.

If you choose ROTC in college, you can get your college paid for by Uncle Sam. You just have to be willing to take your first quarter to do Basic training. You can do reserves and college simultaneously....earning a paycheck while you earn a degree.

4 year degree will earn you higher income potential. Also, many jobs require a 4 year degree for promotion (sometimes the job doesn't even have to been in your field of study.)
My friend got a promotion at her job at the library...a 4 year degree was required.....hers was in dental hygiene.

The average 25 year old with a college degree makes $20K more per year than the average 25 year old without a degree. The gap in income widens with age.

Is that enough of a benefit for you?
