I am almost 34 years old and want to return to school full time. I have been away from college for 6 years but have 43 credit hours accumulated. Is it too late for me to go back, finish my bachelors degree, maybe even go to graduate school and still be successful in a career? Thanks for all the answers in advance.

I'm pursuing a one year Executive MBA designed for executives and working professionals, from a specialized B-school. I would like to know how this stands against a conventional two year university MBA; specifically with regard to employment prospects. Thanks.

At the Australian university where i attend, there are 5 grade types:

Fail <50
Pass 50 - 59
Credit 60 - 69
Distinction 70 - 79
High Distinction - 80+

Does it really matter what grade you get when it comes to being employable? At the moment i am averaging pass marks which isn't very high...

Do employers look at the transcript or the fact you have a degree? I will have a double degree which is like 2 bachelor
degrees combined.

Okay, so the prompt was to write about why we wanted to major in whatever or what led to that major.

So I talk about some issues I had with depression and suicide and now I feel as if I shouldn't. I mean, I tried to address that in a mature, nonpitying way. I mean, it did contribute to my choice in major and I feel as if that's shaped who I am today.

But I think maybe I won't be accepted now that I put it in. I mean, I'm not the type of person to go hurting other people or anything. But what if I give off the impression I am?

Ah, and my scores aren't the best so I think by putting stuff in the essay about my mental health issues, which I thought were fairly common at least among kids I know, I just sabotaged myself.

I spent forever on those stupid essays. And now maybe one line means I won't get admitted! Agh.

I go to a supposedly great college. Granted, I take night courses, but I just don't feel as though I'm benefiting from it in the least. The only thing I know I'll get out of it is a very pricey degree, yet I hoped a little knowledge would go along with it. I haven't learned one thing I didn't already know and didn't care about. Its as though contemporary college (I've been to three universities) is a business wanting to sell you the most prestigious piece of paper, as if education is the farthest thing from their mind. Or perhaps theres some ulterior motive involved, like college is there so people can get pushed into jobs after they graduate in order to pay for it, thus making it a tool of the economy to keep us in line and working for them. Colleges are sheep factories to give graduates some false sense of accomplishment so they might feel better about getting and settling for a career. Originally I believed it might help me define my goals and better educate me in many areas. wtf?

so i'm a high school senior...and i'm planning to become a pharmacist..but first i want to attend a calstate..here's my question....when can i transfer to a pharmacy school?...so if i go to a calstate ( a four year school)...can i transfer to a pharmacy school after i do all my prerequisite courses necessary? For example...if i complete all my prerequisite courses in 2 years...can i transfer after that?...but the question i have..is that wouldn't that mean that i wouldn't complete the total four years necessary for a calstate to receive a bachelors?..

so...i'm kinda confused...would i be able to transfer and would pharmacy schools even accept me if i do only 2 out of 4 years of calstate or do i have to do the complete 4 years?

I'm a senior in Puerto Rico and I really want to go to one of the Ivies, but I'm not sure if I can. I got a 1600 on the SAT (Reading-560, Math-510, Writing-610). I have one of the highest scores in my grade but I know it's nothing compared to kids in the states. My GPA is 3.9, I'm a member of the National Honor Society, and the editor of the yearbook. I want to be a zoologist/documentarist and I do lots of volunteer work (esp. at the animal shelter). I was also an intern for the Rainforest Alliance in New York last year and I received a scholarship to attend a Biological Conservation course at Columbia University last summer. I also have my own jewelry business that I am very serious about (I make everything myself). I'm going to take the Math l, Spanish, and Biology Subject Tests on Saturday but I don't think I'll do well. Will my extracurriculars help make up for my low scores? Can I still get into an Ivy, and if not can you recommend a good school to apply to? Thanks!

I am afraid I am not up for this. I don't think I write like college students suppose to write like. I feel like I know less math then some middle schoolers. I am lost right now and I feel like crying. Since I was in middle school I never did any review work at home only projects that were crucial in the class. I don't know If it's excuse but if i was a smart individual I think i won't need review like the rest of the people in my class. I hate the school I am in but I know I belong in it because I am not that great myself.Thanks. What's funny is that the standards are so low and I can't keep up. *cries*

Should I drop out of school and sell drugs?

Does anyone know if the University of Chicago has specific schools that you apply to or something? I just submitted my application yesterday, yet for some reason I don't remember checking a box or something that said what school I wanted to attend. Does anyone know how the University of Chicago works in that area?

I'm thinking about eventually going to dental or law school. If I graduate with a double major in political science and english (which is what I'm pursuing now) would dental school really be that much harder than if I had graduated with a degree in something like biology?

This is on the web page of the dental school I'm interested in:
"No particular major field of study in college is required for admission to dental school. A well-rounded educational background with courses in a variety of subjects is desired. Individuals have been accepted to dental school who majored in French, engineering, marketing, etc. Majoring in a science, however, will make an applicant more attractive to the Admissions Committee. The majority of successful applicants to LSUSD have degrees in biology, zoology, microbiology or chemistry."
