I am afraid I am not up for this. I don't think I write like college students suppose to write like. I feel like I know less math then some middle schoolers. I am lost right now and I feel like crying. Since I was in middle school I never did any review work at home only projects that were crucial in the class. I don't know If it's excuse but if i was a smart individual I think i won't need review like the rest of the people in my class. I hate the school I am in but I know I belong in it because I am not that great myself.Thanks. What's funny is that the standards are so low and I can't keep up. *cries*

Should I drop out of school and sell drugs?
.

I think you already know the answer to that "sell drugs" part. So let's stick with the main issue here.

You haven't exercised your mind--which, like any other part of you, gets stronger with exercise. So you need the right trainer, and you can catch up and develop your smarts.

The place in higher education that's best suited to do that work with you is a public community college. I've had lots of students who started out feeling dumb and not capable, and after a lot of work that was on their level and a lot of proper encouragement and correction, they were up to speed. One of my fondest memories was a young guy who was a jock in high school--when he started, his writing was horrible, and he had to repeat one of my classes to get a decent grade. After a semester, he was starting to catch up, and finally he transferred to a good four-year school and finished his bachelor's degree.

So yes, you have the same chance of doing it as anyone else--just get in the right situation and don't give up on yourself!

Not everyone is meant for college. However, that doesn't mean you're stupid, just that you may be gifted in a different way. (and let's face it, most people don't need much more math than arithmetic, anyway.) It sounds more like you just need to work a little harder--you said you've not studied since middle school? Even smart people need to study--you can't learn everything in an instant.
As to your idea of dropping out of school and selling drugs--that will give you a much worse life in the end than getting your diploma will. After all, there are many technical schools where you can learn a useful trade. And before you start knocking the technical schools, think about how much a plumber makes an hour. You can actually make more money going that route than with a bachelor's degree.

You know that a college education will help you get better career prospects. Try and focus on what kind of work you would like to do when you are older, and concentrate on making that happen, by studying as well as you can.

Stop comparing yourself with others. Start putting some work into studying and start making a life for yourself.

Drop out of school and sell drugs if you want. That's the fastest way to jail, then you won't have to worry about a college education, a career, or anything.

Hey, I've felt the frustration you feel. You're not alone. When I first left high school I went to a Penn State satellite campus and immediately knew it wasn't for me. The place was nice, I guess, but pretty much a dumping ground for the unextraordinary (both students and faculty). Because of this I simply faded out and fell into alcohol, drugs, and really lousy jobs.

Don't lose hope. Lose the lousy school. If you like or love, you perform. Find a school or an academic program that excites you (there's no time limit here, if it takes you two years then you're still better off than the people who immediately get a degree in business because they think they're supposed to). Focus on finding your love and keep your nose clean. Email me if you need help.

Don't get discouraged. For one, there is always room for improvement in your academic performances.

Secondly, the usual skills evaluated in school (writing, mathematics) may not be essential to your career choice. Ask yourself what you really want to do and worry about the college education after.

Thirdly, college education does not mean everything. There are alot of successful people who do not have a college degree (Bill Gates, and Steve Jobs to name a few). However, secondary school is important and I advise you to complete the degree.

Even if you choose not to attend college, selling drugs may not be the best way to go...

I met a lot of truly dumb people in college and you don't sound like one of them because you acknowledge that you're confused and need help. That's a huge step in the right direction.

Actually, you don't need to be particularly smart to go to college. You just have to know how to study and apply yourself. Believe me, the so-called smart students get good grades because they study and review the material - even if you think they don't.

The secret is to have a good study system and use it consistently. There are lots of good study systems out there - just do a Google search for "college study skills" and you'll see lots of study systems available.

Or, click here for one of the best ones: http://www.study-like-an-expert.com/study-skills.html

Don't give up. I suggest you start at a community college first, where the pressure isn't so great. Get and use a good study system - follow it faithfully and you will see your grades go up and you'll feel in control.

Good Luck.

You are never too dumb to get a college education especially if you have the desire to do so...Make an appointment with your guidance counselor at your school, or talk to a teacher about getting extra help to strengthen what you feel you need help in...Some schools offer tutoring for free or having another student tutor for extra credit. Don't give up if you have a desire to better yourself. You have alot of potential just from your posting because your vocabulary is quite good actually.

If you are serious about dropping out of school and selling drugs, then you are definitely dumb. Just being honest. Stay in school. If you don't get the greatest grades...so what? You are still trying to get a college education and that is so important in this day and age. No one said college would be easy. Just keep going for it, get a tutor to help you out. Most colleges offer them and they are for free! I just hope you aren't serious about selling drugs....

Most schools offer help with class material so that you can understand it. Statistics show that those with a degree earn much more than people who don't have one.
For some school is just not their thing.
Decide what your goals are and don't be afraid to reach out. Colleges want you to stay in school to skew their reports and that's how they get money. In today's world, they really help kids that are struggling.

Hey, if it's any help you write better than 85% of the people on yahoo answers. Seriously, you're logic and sentence structure (two things that I think are the hardest to learn in writing) are perfect, and it wouldn't take much to bring your writing up to 'standard' written English. I think there are very few people (if any) who can learn something without reviewing it periodically. If you think you're intelligent, then show it by learning as much as you can as fast as you can.
