our class is on Tuesdays 5:40 pm to 8:30 pm. the professor comes collects the homework from last class, assigns new homework, takes assistant, talks about life just a little bit and by 7 pm (never after) we are out the door every week. last Tuesday she came, did the same but gives us our mid term project (has to be about a topic, visual power point etc...) and guess what she says that is due on November 20 and until that day we do not have to go to class..... is that legal??? she says that she will meet with whoever has struggle in barners and nobles or the English lab Tuesdays and Fridays afternoons... can she do that?? I have not learn anything from her (English and composition 2) she want a visual project,,,??? came on!! what about attendance... she said until know that attendance is important because Florida states requires that if students miss 2 days in a row teachers should drop them (or student has to justify absence) DO NO GET THIS woman!! I'm a sophmore in college with 36 credits majoring in Electrical Engineering. I cannot attend classes on campus this coming semester for a health reason, but still want to continue taking classes somehow. Does anyone know a good online school I could take 3-4 classes from either for science/math or english like classes? Everything I've looked at online so far is directed at getting a particular degree (like Medical Assistant etc), but I would like for the classes I take to go toward my degree when I start back next year.

Honestly, I'm perplexed. Women claim to be "smart" and many, many women I think would be very pleased at how challenging the program is. The degree is about as flexible as a 15 year old gymnast and you could *easily* land a well-paying job at any self-respecting company. Yet, brutally apparent my observations are flawed - as I look around at my university's class of "advanced discrete mathematics" there are approximately 100 males per every 5 females in the entire room.

Do any of you yahoo people have any insight on this puzzling mystery?

Now I'm taking a certificate for limited X-Ray tech, but I want something better than that because a limited X-ray tech is very useless. I want to know what other careers are involved in the medical field. I was thinking after the x-ray certification to take an A.S Degree/Certification for Nuclear Medicine Technician. I want something short that pays good money in the future...What you guys recommend to have a great career in the medical field that doesn't take too long?

I got 1800 on my SAT. I didn't practiced at all, didn't even heard of the SAT before, English is not my native language and I have been in an American high school for about 3 months. I got 700 on the math part and 540-560 on the English parts.

The university I want to apply to requires a minimum score of 1650 and an essay sub-score of 8 (out of 12), but I got 6 on the essay!

Is it worth it to send my application now and send them my December SAT score once I get it or they won't consider my application if I send it now and I am basically screwed?

Thanks in advance.

I wanted to know if a former doctor has to drop the suffix "MD" from their name and no longer be addressed as "Doctor." I know several retired docs who still have it, and that's fine I think. But what if their license is revoked by the state medical board because of gross negligence or something? If possible, can you provide a link to some kind of policy?

So I'm a student at UCLA, junior, and I have a 4.00 gpa thus far. I am wondering what the breakdown is between the GRE score and the GPA when it comes to admissions decision. Which one do graduate school look at more? Does going to UCLA help me at all?

How long would it take me to get the Ph.D, assuming that I would be doing it PART TIME.

I am a senior in a public high school with a SAT score of 1690. Math-610, Reading- 510, Writing-570.

I took it again and focused mainly on the reading (stupid) and got a 1700. Math-600, Critical Reading-570, Writing-530.

My subject tests are: Biology-680, US History-690, Math II- 650

I have taken most of the AP classes offered at my school (I will graduate with 10) and out of the 6 AP tests I've taken, I have an average score of 4.

I have a decent amount of extracurriculars: GEAR UP mentoring (1yr), Marching/Pep/Concert Band (4yrs), Key Club (2yrs), CSF (2 yrs), Jazz Band (1yr), Private lessons bc scholarship (2yrs). I have a 4.3 GPA, and am #1 of 500. If it matters, I am first generation and Chinese.

Choice colleges: UC Berkely, UCLA, UCSD, USC, Stanford, Pomona, CMC, Amherst, UPenn, Brown, Cornell, Darthmouth, Williams

I am worried that with my low SAT I scores I won't be able to get into any of them. I am planning on taking the ACT because I hear it's easier.

I'm doing X-Ray Technician, but now the school says that they CAN'T give no more A.S Degree because the ACC said that the school can't be aloud (some problems), and is hard for me to transfer the credits to another school. But I want to know what is the difference between Certification and AS degree. Would it be the same? Does the starting pay/wage be the same when I graduate and start working? Can I get a good job? How much is the pay for a limited X-Ray Tech?

Diploma vs. A.S degree?

Information from several websites including collegeboard.

Type of School:
Public
University
Four-year
Coed
Percent applicants admitted: 90%
Regionally Accredited
North Central Association of Colleges and Schools

This confises me because I have asked several times what vet schools are easier to get intoand no one said Iowa State when the percentage of accepted people is 90%!

Is this really true? I want to apply to vet school when I am older, and this seems pretty much like a safe addmitance school for me!
