pharamcy tech's are basicly the clerks, they count pills, deal with the customers, recount medication. and serve, generaly in a retail pharmacy (like target) they'll be 1 pharmacist, and 2 pharmacy techs.....usually there isn't any prior work requirements to work as a pharmacy tech.
pharmacy techs make about $25-30k a year starting out
pharmacists make around $80k-100k starting out
pharmacist researchers at a major pharmactuitical company (like viagra or lipitor) make around $200k starting out
i almost did pharmacy, i had a week long internship. and it was incredibly boring/repetative, even the pharmacist i was shadowing told me, that if you could go back in time, he would of choosen a diffrent field.
now i'm working towards my emergency medicine licenses

The average pharm tech makes about $13 per hour, with very little room for growth. I have never heard of a pharm tech making more than about $18 per hour.
Techs are responsible for the technical part of pharmacy practice, i.e. typing labels, putting pills in bottle, etc.
