University of Florida SUCKS!!!!!

Emory is a very good private school in Atlanta.
State school-wise, the best Florida state schools are probably the University of Florida in Gainesville, or New College, which is a very small honors college in Sarasota.
I don't know much about Georgia state schools.

It depends on what you want to go to school for - every school has different programs that they excel in. I went to Florida State because it has one of the best hospitality programs in the country. I loved it there - the teachers are great, the campus is beautiful, the people are nice - it was a great experience and I'd do it all over again.
The only advice I could give you is to make a list of the different schools you're interested in and arrange for a campus tour. While you're there you can talk to other students and get a feel for what the university is like.

Emory is the best. Georgia Tech is second best. University of Florida is third best. University of Georgia is fourth best. University of Miami is probably fifth best.
Nothing else stands out.

It really depends on what you are majoring in. You wouldn't go to Georgia Tech for a Liberal Arts degree and you wouldn't go to Savannah College of Arts and Design for a Physics degree.
