I am a University student and I have been invited to both Alpha Phi Sigma (the National Criminal Justice Honor Society - which is my major) and Phi Alpha Theta (the National History Honor Society - which is my minor). My question is can I apply for and be a member of both?

Yes

Generally, you can belong to separate and unrelated organizations but not to two in the same field.

The rules for professional and honor organizations differ from the rules of the socials.

I'm in both. No worries. When you get a Masters you can apply for membership in that one as well. You can also apply for Golden Key and other non-major honor societies.
Sorry for the edit, I didnt read your question correctly at first.

relies upon on if the school you're shifting to has NHS. (trust me, no longer all colleges do. MINE does no longer.) If it does, contact your counselor about NHS. i'm no longer effective if that'll move over immediately, yet you'll actually have the skill to hitch again.
