Higher Education (University +) - July 2007

I have two years left at a top 10-15 undergrad b-school. I am majoring in both Finance & Accounting and I have done internships at two different Fortune 500's (Manufacturing, Oil). I have a 3.0, am VP of my frat, and have three good recs. I will have my CPA when I graduate and approximately a 700-720 on the GMAT.

I want to work in the banking industry as a career (prob Investment Management or Commercial Lending). I know I need an MBA, and I would prefer to study at one of the top tier programs, but I want to enlist in the Marines (active duty) as an Intel officer when I graduate for 4-5 years.

First, would serving 4-5 years in the military instead of 4-5 years at a bank hurt my chances of getting into a good grad school? Also, could I get a Finance job after returning from active duty that would allow me to test for the CFA before I had my MBA? (I would do an MBA night or weekend program while working)

I want the challenge and I consider service a duty and honor, am I crazy?

hey people, I'm going to be a senior in high skool and my junior year sucked. I will definitely do way better this year, but still.....

my SAT score is ok 1560 (M600 R460 W500) and I did jv wrestling freshman year and this year I'll do philosiphy club, art club, and rugby.

I also have ALOT of talents:

*I can play violin, viola, cello, base, both types of guitars, piano, drums, and xylophone

*I speak english(duh), german, some french, spanish, japanese, and bengali

* I can draw really really well.

with this can I get into a decent college hopefully with the majors: mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, or police science?

I've looked at arizona state, oregon state, and auburn university so far.

u think I have a chance?

I am an accounting and economics major student, about to graduate on December 2007. I have experiences in administrative assistant but I don't have experiences in the field of accounting or economics. In my resume, should I list all my administrative assistant when I apply as accountant or just list as no experience? Since it is 5 months till I graduate, is it too early to apply full time? I only have about 2.99 gpa.

What sort of things are you excatly supposed to write about when you're writing for college admission?

What you contribute as a student?
Your academic experiences?
Why you wish to enroll in that specific college?
All three?

I dont see what else there could be to include, but what else is recommended to write an essay about?

Hi, I am about to start my freshman year. I know my classes (15 hours first semester) and studying will take up lot of my time.I also want to get involved with a church, and possibly a sorority. Would a job be too much on top of classes, being away from home, and meeting new people? If not, how many hours a week do you suggest?

!am going to be a senior at a private high school. I have a 2.95 gpa.

By the end of senior year i will have:
4 math
4 science
4 religion
4 spanish
4 english
4 history
and other elective credits

On my ACT I got a 22
SAT I got Math 470 and CR 500 and writing 490 a total of 1460. (I will probablly take these again)

I participate in Crosscountry running(Varsity), Cheerleading(Varsity), Yearbook, Peer Leadership, Outreach, and a Ministry program.
I also volunteer at a hospital.
I am also 1/4 Middle eastern if that helps and I am also going to be a first generation college student

Do I have a chance at these schools?

Biola University
Flagler College
Hofstra University
Saint Michael's College
University of New Haven
Suffolk University
Elon University
University of North Carolina or NC State

Could I get into any of these? And if so which ones do you think I have a better chance of being accepted into?

Do you know any good colleges for some one who plans on majoring in medicine(I would like to be an EMT or a surgeons assisstant something along those lines). I plan on have my minor be pyschology and just would like some help. Still in high school but starting to look. Anything would help as long as it not rude.

I currently work as executive assistant in Vancouver, BC. I make $38,000 per year plus about $1,500 bonus. Should I quit come September and go to school full time so I can finish my bachelor degree in business? Or should I stay working and take night classes (the long way). PS Would have to get student loans for second option of going to school full time.

if i studied business and psychology combined at university, what jobs could that lead to?
also, is it possible to even do that?
please bear in mind i enjoy the psychology side a lot more, but i also understand i am not good enough at it to rely on it, i'd have to combine it with something and business is the most suggested.

I realize that it is never too late but the problem is that I can't afford to quit my job to go to a brick and motar school so are online university's fully accredited and fully accepted by most companys across the U.S. and if so which are the best ones and what could I expect to pay for a B.S. degree?
