I'm going to be a high school senior this year and i'm considering switching from a smaller, private school(class size about 80) to a larger public school(class size about 250) for financial and social reasons. What i'm wondering is how this will affect how my college applications look. I'm planning on applying to Ivy League and other highly selective schools(which i have reasonable chances of getting into). At my private school, i'm ranked #3 of 80. I would be lower at the public school because they have had more opportunities to take classes w/ a higher credit(they have more AP's and honors classes, for example, my school did not have honors english 9, but the public school did). I'm not sure what my rank would be at the public school, but I know it would be at least top 50, probably top 25. so what would admissions councilors think of top 25 of 250 vs. top 3 of 80?

I am planning to study for part-time MBA program. Living in toronto, i am interested in these 3 schools, schulich (york), rotman (UfT) & Ryerson MBA. I have found that ryerson mba is lot cheaper & course finishes in 2 yrs when others are expensive and takes more than 3+ yrs.
The cons of ryerson is that it began mba program 1 yr or 2 yrs back, which leaves very few ranking info abt the program and/or job details of past students,
Does ranking really matters?
this is the course details of ryerson mba:

please comment on this course...

For example, Harvard is known as the law school and Yale is known as the medical school. What about Princeton? Any recommendations on what university I should attend if I wish to become a writer?

I took these classes in 9th grade and I think I screwed up big time.

Gym(A)
Spanish 1(-A.B+)
Pre-Physcial Science (B+,A)
English(B+,-A)
Keyboarding(A)
Finance(B+)
Geometry(B+,-A)
Astronomy(-B)

The problem is Pre-Physcial Science, it is easy than regular 9th grade. I got B+ cause I wasn't trying hard enough. I REALLY LIKE SCIENCE AND THEN THE NEXT SEMESTER I GOT AN "A" AND ALL THE 3 SEMESTERS I WAS ON THE "B" HONOR ROLE. THE 3rd GPD WAS 3.5

WHAT DO YOU THINK? WILL THEY ACCEPT ME?

I am a entering Freshmen at UC Santa Cruz and I want to transfer to University of Southern California and enter in the Fall of 2008. I sort of didn't get into USC the first time i applied last year and I regret that I didn't as hard. I had a average of a 3.5 high school GPA and a 1800 on my SATs. Senior year I got a 4.0 but that was too late. I'm very involved in Student Government in high school which won me the Graduate of the Year award. However my academic grades are not as high as USC standards. So my goal is to work hard during my freshmen year. Anyone have any info about transfering to USC and how much they admit and what chances I stand or is it worth the time?

Okay, so I applied for admission to the American University in D.C. since I feel like I've chosen the wrong school (I'm a bit of a nerd) but AU is pretty expensive and is a HUGE leap from my current school. Funding would be a little difficult.....so I've been thinking about college loans....do you think thats a good idea....? I mean acquiring DEBT and everything...Do you have any suggestions?

I want to join a sorority at my school. I have read all their history and hazing laws. I am scared that when I pledge they will try to do something to hurt me or put me through something that I am not expecting. I really want to be a part of this sorority. It has been my dream since I was about 9. What do I do?

Besides- bed, computer, printer, microwave, fridge, desk or something equally obvious.
I'm compiling a list of stuff I need for college and would like some input. What surprised you? What did you wish you had? What was a waste of money and/or space?

I have thought of Liberty University, however I soon nixed that idea after taking in to consideration the far location- and its Conservative teachings, which I severely disagree with.

Also, I have considered Penn State, Maryland State, and IUP.
I have also visited the US Naval Acadamy in Annapolis, but obviously that didn't last much longer than Liberty.

What do you recommend?

Do they? Are they like high school, where you have to complete a certain number of courses in order to graduate? Obviously, you have to complete the courses involved in your major) If so, which colleges have one?
